Biggest winner I have found discarded is like $4.00 but I usally check all them because on crosswords and bingos people miss letters and numbers all the time...... As Illinois stop using the letter codes on tickets 13 years ago so a lot of winners get thrown out ......

Our state just stopped using codes..

I also found one a few months back next to a garbage can at the gas station- first ticket to stop the codes- the whole ticket was scratched and it was a $20 winner- 3 queens in a row.

You guys are lucky - I've never once found a discarded ticket that had a value! I don't know if I'd take advantage of places where the elderly scratch off tickets, 'cause I'd feel bad if I they threw away a winner, but a watering hole? Sure!

Not that I know of and but if people do that then they probably don't know about the winning letter codes, surely they'd scratch the whole thing to find one? Hmm The biggest offense I've seen done is people just sctratching to find the winning letters like TEN. Not always smart since higher amounts have losing codes, so I've heard. Acutually it was my DH, we were on our way back from Texas and he had stopped and grabbed a few tickets well he was tired so when we got back to Oklahoma, I went over the tickets there was a $50.00 win...

Highest discarded winner I found was $100 twice. Ive found countless $20-40 winners and smaller ones too $2-5

During 1 week I found $240 of discarded winners. I should just stick to that and not play lol

My biggest trash winner is $100. A single matching number missed on a $5 ticket. I have found many many winners discarded, some with actual $$ symbols on them and some with multiple matches. Certain stores that are frequented by the elderly or ones that are located close to the local watering holes (bars) seem to produce discarded winners.

I remember not too long ago I found a story about a guy who picked through someones discarded scratchers and found a top level prize that person had blown past. There's just something about me that when I'm done scratching a ticket I have to triple check everything.

A very small line just where the numbers are?

I have seen this done and wonder how in the heck do they not miss something.

Lo and behold I found a $15 winner in the garbage- someone missed a number.

And a few weeks back I found a word search where only the call letters were scratched- sure enough a $6 winner !

Anyone ever find winning tickets in the garbage? I am actually on a roll- found a $20 and a $2 in there Saturday night..

I love to garbage pick =)..
