oh i cant post the link, well its a good read. i wonder if the 6 numbers won and 7 copied had won would the lotto claim they where a computev glitch

When someone does QP at a store, do they remove that combination from the QP pool for that store? No.

or can two people receive the same QP combination at the same store, for the same drawing? Yes. Think what would happen if several dozen people bought QPs for pick 3, they'd have to stop selling tickets if repeats couldn't be sold.

Having said that, they will lock out (or go to parimutual payout) a number if too many people system-wide have played it. This doesn't happen very often in jack... [ More ]

I agree with ridge. QP generation should have nothing to do with the machine you buy it from. They should all be using the same software to random generate numbers independent of other numbers and machines being used.

Note that I used the word should twice in there.

The lottery claims that QP's are picked randomly.

It sure doesn't sound random if each terminal is assigned specific combinations.

I hope that's not the case.

I think every machine holds a certain amount of combinations. Sometimes i buy 10 lines and there's alot of repeat numbers. You would have to sell alot of tickets for a repeat. I'm gonna buy some in Conn and see how they match up to NY. GL

I was thinking about going to less popular stores so the QP pool would be larger.
