Rule #2 is why I don't play the ponies. Seems like it would be far too much work to learn enough about all the horses to make an educated guess as to who would win.

Not very many players use it, but there is QP option for betting on horse races.

In some states it's not been that long ago when there was no Sunday drawings or any lottery sales. And when most of the state lotteries were created, people were saying the lottery is gambling and gambling is wrong. There are people in Arkansas that are still saying it and trying to abolish their lottery.

is too much or if it's even wrong at all.

There is nothing wrong with gambling so long as you don't over do it, pretty much the same answer for almost everything, don't blow the rent, etc.

As for your programmer, people who don't do a thing don't always know what it's all about. Good chance he did some research and found it violated some belief system he is party to. Or he realized he couldn't do it, or it would take too much work for the price and wanted a easy way out.

Is gambling wrong... that is a tough question. In and of itself? I don't believe so. Anything taken to extreme is bad/wrong. Too much water you drown, too little you get dehydrated/turn to dust.

No seriously, you shouldn't let someone else's personal/religious beliefs affect how you feel. If you enjoy doing something and its not hurting anything (except your wallet) then I don't see what the problem is to be honest. Life is too short to live by someone else's standards.

It made me feel guilty, so I immediately called my grandmother because she always tells me like it is and I asked was it wrong and she said kind of, then her phone died.
