Haven't really seen a line unless I waited until the last minute. At least not since NC got the lottery. When I would go to SC, there would be long lines at the border stores. Of course that was before NC got it.

I once drove 1 1/2 hours to Virginia to buy $20 worth of Powerball tickets when it was over $250 million a few years ago. There was a line - and it was the last one I've ever been in for a lottery since.

NC now has Powerball, so it's mute.

no lines in Oklahoma... I do remember before Oklahoma got the lottery people from here would go to the state line stores to buy tickets they would go to Kansas, Texas MO....

Its not a waste.Especially when I dont play until it realches 100 Million so the cash I put towards lotto tickets build.I would be more angry if I didnt buy any tickets and someone walked right into that same pilot where someone won $77 million and won 363 million.I would be saying what if for a long time.

Whew...I was thinking of actually spending $20 this time, instead of my normal $2...thinking I was a big spender! LOL

I wish I lived closer to the Miracle Mile. I don't feel like driving 2 hours to get a lottery ticket. I'm sure the lines there will be huge.

no matter how large a jp is I believe buying more than 5 tickets is a waist.people buying hundreds of dollars on tickets for one draw are just crazy. if its a pool then I understand but one person spending that much is stupid.

I can honestly say I've never been in a jackpot-driven long line for lotto tickets. Every time the jackpot gets big like this the local news likes to show some store with a line going out the door, but I've never actually experienced it myself. I've been stuck behind people playing a lot of Pick 3/Pick 4 lines or buying a ton of scratchers, but hasn't everyone

I remember those days. But even today, there was a 'small-ish' line at my local dealer (gas station down the road a piece). speaking with the manager (everyone knows everyone by face if not by name), the store has actually put an extra 'ee on the schedule for the next 3 days solely to handle MM/PB/other lottery sales. Smart.

The laughing conversation made mention that this was the 'trickle down economics' at its best.

The last time I remember lines here in Idaho was at least a decade ago, and it seems like the jackpot was around 250 - 300 million. We kinda got used to the huge jackpots. I'm betting it'll take close to a billion dollar jackpot to excite people like that again.

Reminds me of the old days before MegaMillions and PowerBall came to Ohio. When ever their jackpots were $100M or more, I would drive to Michigan for BigGame or to Indiana for PowerBall tickets and would have to stand a line for twenty minutes or more.

Today I bought a paper where I usually buy tickets and no lines or customers, probably won't be any lines when I pick up my tickets on Tuesday night either.

before cross selling, many years ago, when mega millions had that 390m jackpot,

i went form nashville to chattanooga , made it a family visit to chattanooga aquarium, but i had a other driving force, why we went that week .

mega millions, just so happens chattanooga right next to Georgia, made gas station stop ,and got me like 40 bucks worth of tickets. rofl. family didn't say a word about it, cease it was trip to aquarium, but i was going their 1 way or the other LOL for shot at that reco... [ More ]
