I will do several things to pay it forward but the first one would be to gather my family members with credit cards and go to several gas stations around the city. Determine the maximum number of cars and $ amount/car to help at each station, print that many vouchers, give cars vouchers as they come into lot. They turn in the voucher at the pump and get free gas. Complete the service at each station before a riot can develope or recipients can call their friends and family to come down and join

Did anyone see the the one show on TLC about how the lottery changed their life where the guy wins at the casino all the time? He would hand out a part of his winnings to strangers before he leaves and he keeps on winning

I would pay off some layaways at Christmas time, sometimes I think the small donations help the most. I would donate to larger charities as well, I would pay off my dad's home, buy my sister a house, give my inlaws money to do what they want with. I have a few close friends I would give cars to and maybe send them on a vaction. I would just be discrete about it. There is no need in being on front street about it! Then I would make a nice contribution to my endowment fund for Better Living

With any jackpot, I'd help relatives and donate to charities. With a huge jackpot, the charitable gifts would be up to 50% of the jackpot. Among the causes I'd support in a big way would be scolarships, libraries, food banks and local animal shelters in the communities in which I've lived over the years.

With all the publicity of this record jackpot, the causes will be lined up for miles around the winner's house. Their phones will never stop ringing. The opponents of lotteries and gambling in general will tell us to donate the money we spend on tickets to strangers and/or causes and a pessimist will say because we probably won't win anything.

Most winners probably share some of their much smaller winnings with family and friends and maybe that's what they are thinking when they buy a straigh... [ More ]

Yes.

1. church gets 10% of gross as soon as I get control of funds (as close to immediately as possible).

2. family that I have been working with (mediation) for the last 2 years, I will get them out of debt (investing in their company - let them figure out how to parce out the funds).

3. Immediate family gets all school debts paid off.

Then I rest for a year and consider what to do for year 2.

Thought of starting a non profit org. for people who have freak accidents and need assistance in getting special therapy/medical procedures. For example, there was an article about a gal who was having her bachelorette party and was pushed into the pool by a friend, caused spinal injuries, now she can't walk. There was a firefighter who was badly burned out west someplace and needs help with medical issues....We had some local young kids who lost their parents in a fire, making a contribution to...
