That's a good point. I think another big factor in getting past the $400 mark is how much the previous jackpot is and/or the size of the increase. The lead up to this one went from 290 to 363, selling 191 million tickets, which would have put about 70% of combinations in play. The previous MM record went from 275 to 390, selling almost 213 million tickets, putting about 75% of combinations in play. What Ruud said, if sales are lower due to the $2 charge for tickets, then there could be a situation of constant rolling. We'll never know when that will be but it could happen.

Eventually, yes. At $2 per ticket, the coverage will be lower at higher jackpot levels, meaning a high chance of a roll.

When PB gets up over 300 million, it's going to be a mess for a lot of people getting a ticket. Like someone stated, so many people are going to think its a dollar and ask for 10-20-50 tickets and cause some major slow downs at the cashier. However I do think that if it hits 300m, we will see the same thing happen that happened with MM.

MM puts about 32 cents from every ticket in the jackpot prize pool.

PB puts about 64 cents from every ticket in the jackpot prize pool.

The odds of both games are almost exactly the same.

Statistically the average PB jackpot should be almost exactly twice as much as the average MM jackpot. Yes

PB will surpass MM, but it will not be this year, all the j/p's will be in the ten's of millions for a while. A j/p that starts at 40 million is fabulous; I still only purchase 1 ticket a game (refuse to buy more at 2$ a shot) and figure that I am not alone.

Dontcha think it has something to do with us not being accustomed to the higher price and that we are by nature creatures of habit thus wanting zero change and a ticket price of a buck

Folks love a good deal. $1 for a Mega ticket is a good deal compared to the $2 for PowerBall.

I haven't noticed people in the stores buying more Powerball.

In fact, those I talk to and store owners say it's kind of the opposite.

I think it's possible, if your a real lotto player you'll be right in the middle of it just like the

Mega Millions game.

$2 isn't going to stop anyone from playing once the jackpot start to reach record setting amounts. I know

I'll buy a ticket or two, not $100 or $1000 worth of tickets.

w/2$ tix most reg. players that would be happy with the starting JP are gonna play the cheaper game,

JP odds being = , who is going for the 2$ game, cept maybe florida, and even there folks close to the border may still pass on it,

I ask this because since the price increase,pb ticket sakes have been lack luster.I believe they will let this jp to grow but with the jp only increasing only 10 mil per drawing its gonna take a while.th

ey need to go back to 1 dollar if you ask me.
