So, the pre-draw uses the machine that they plan to use for the regular draw. Ok, I get that. Do they use the same balls as well? Is it run exactly the same as a regular draw

You're right their is Patterns in the actual draws be it fibbs , hot/cold , positional and etc . It just some of use can see these patterns and some can not . Pre-Draws has no variable on the actual Draw . It just a TEST of their actual System be it Mechanical or RNG computer is working or not .

the reason they do it is basic standards...you dont drink from a coke can without Quality Control being done first...

you dont put a condom on your penis without vigourous laboratory testing...same is true with lotto...no draws without rigourous standards

the lottery is mathematical science...and only a genius can break the code...and utilizing pre-draw hocus pocus...is just one line of code too many

Cajun Thanks. I got that part. My questions were why do they do another predraw (or after draw) after the drawing as well (seems moot at that point) and when do they post the predraw info for each drawing

A pre-draw is done before the actual Draw it self to test the Equipment for any malfunctions in system if its Mechanical Draw or RNG

It's a hypothetical question implying most players check their QPs against test drawings and past drawings after their tickets crapped out on the real drawing. Maybe Fusionism is the type of player who after checking their 5 QPs and see they matched zero or one number, rub salt in the wound by checking past history and pre-drawing test.

I can even one up this. Take a look at the Craps Game. Are there up to (5) pre-rolls before the actual official roll??? Nope...didn't think so. Once they leave the hand, that's it. Winners win and losers lose...and it's the way it should be with everything EXCEPT A CARD GAME. The states know this but, they crutch the process on Fairness and Machine Function. Yeah, okay...

RJOh, this is the most sensible and reasonable response to the OP's question...PERIOD!! Also, thanks for being str8 forward about it. I've mentioned several times already on how I won on Pick 3 during the pre-draws and ended up losing on the official draw. I'd be willing to bet that many others have as well but just haven't said anything, or, just aren't members here at LP. Hey, it HAS TO HAPPEN and this is why lotteries conduct those BS pre-draws!

There's a better chance of that happening than matching the official drawing since there are more of them. There's a good chance you could match the official PB drawing or one of its pre-test drawing too but the only one that count if you're playing MM is its official drawing for the date on your ticket according to the game rules. As an adult I would accept the fact that I didn't win and move on.
