Lottery pools are still best as it gives you more tickets at a lower cost. I don't think it will be as popular as playing on ur own due to issues with trust. Imagine having someone like mirlande Wilson buying ur tickets.

If I live in US it will have been US lottery. Quite a few have sent me money from US but I have to return the money. I guess the most common hurdle in US, apart from trust, is the US anti online... [ More ]

I don't subscribe to any pools, but I guess when one is married, that person is in a de facto pool regardless whether the other half contributes or not. But I would never think about participating in any work pool.

actually i usually keep the pools very seperate, but this is more than i like to spend. i told the single guy, in an email. and 2 family membera, but not all of them. i expected more of a ruccus from in here. as well its a pool, and it is kind of complicated. i also have accounts from bank records that basically record ea purchase, form ea syndicate., and wins going back in thw accounts. bottom line is, its not aquaintances, its peoplew i have known for decades.

Some pools DO work out... and should you win (sending happy thoughts your way) - it would be wonderful for your pool(s) to be the prototype for cooperative pools in the future.

you'll laugh at this. I run a couple of pools.and am in a third. the two i run, i paid half half into a bonus ticket issue. If you buy 36 lines worth $20 , you get another 36 lines, all quick picks. I didnt want to pay 2 lots of $20, so i took $10 from ea pool. 1 pool has 2 people, me and a mate, the other has 5people, me and 4 family members. the prizes will be split half / half between the 2 pools.

cant see any problems from this.

You're best off not being in a pool unless it's with trusted family (who won't kill you) or friends (who won't kill you).

It's also good to exclude people of a certain political persuasion as members because they're cheap (won't pay all the time) and they have that entitlement attitude which means they'll sue you if you win on a drawing when they didn't put money in.

The best bet is to just play yourself though because individuals win far more often than pools.... [ More ]

I am running a lottery pool at my work and have for several years now. It started with me and an office mate, then it spread to 13 people. We buy Powerball, Lotto, and MegaMillions every payday. The best we've done is around $100, which we've rolled back in. We've also bought a few Millionaire Raffle tickets when that game was played, but didn't win there either.

We had 18 people at 1 time but some of them had to go back to the US or just gave up after 5-6 months since we didnt hit anything.

No , I would never join a Lottery Pool . I don't want to Split a Jackpot with say 10 or more people and then be suied by someone who forgot to pay or presuimed they was still in the Weekly Pool . I will keep all my Jackpot Winnings to my self !!! When , I win a PB or MM Jackpot ....

I started a Pool about 11 months ago, its now down to 8-9 people and we each put $200 per month

Comes out to about $500 a week in ticket plays. We have a legal contract and a ticket master that handles everything for us via Paypal and a dist list

Pretty much ironclad so if we do hit it, it will be seamless to dist the winnings

That would be a big bummer to hear that twice a week.

I think a positive attitude is critical in pursuing a jackpot while I don't believe it to be a magic won it helps in keeping you motivated and in that state you work harder at developing effective strategies that just one day might lead to that big win. So in that sense optimism is essential.

Use to be in one. I started but the only problem with pools is to have good people that think like you. I remember running the pool without any contracts etc.. but the people were negative about us winning and didn't believe that we would win anything at all or couldn't see the outcome of the lottery officials handing us a big check. Well I am glad to hear you DODGED THAT BULLET.

I think it's more about being in the right place at the right time that leads to these wins. I have heard stories and seen new reports of so many players spending thousnads of dollars chasing the recent 656m mega millions jackpot and what did that get them?

In the end, it's all relative.

The ONE ticket you play is your personal numbers or a QP? Just curious..

I'm not in a lottery pool. Last year there were a few of us who talked about possibly starting a lottery pool but it never got off the ground. Even though I'm leary about pools (due to the fact that lately have been reading about some people not sharing with others in the pool and bringing lawsuits) it seems that many people seem to win with lottery pools (maybe because they buy many tickets at a time as opposed to myself who only buys one).

I'm not nor have I ever been in a lottery pool. I was seriously considering starting one at work until I read several posts and related news articles on this site. I've decided to avoid pools altogether...the probability of experiencing aggravation after a win is greater than actually hitting a win. No interest in that.

How much have you won in any one drawing? the most we won was 100.00 we got 4 numbers.

Do you forsee any drama if you hit the big jackpot? No I do not. We are well documented.

I just started a family pool. I will be picking all the tickets of course :) There will be 3 of us playing $30 each for only one draw per month on mega millions. I do plan on copying all the tickets and sending them to each person

That's only a pain if you change numbers every play right? If more money is added to the pool buy QPs or assign that person to fill out the payslip and turn it in.

$250m? Wow! They must be playing respectively at lower levels and you guys only choose to come together when it would be worth splittibg among several people

one challenge with lottery pools is the quantity of tickets...

who is gonna fill out say 20 or 50 playslips...

you would need computer help and printed playslips...

i know that illegal someplaces...but the clerks dont really check...

sheesh you could not pry a dollar from there cold stingy hands until the jack reached at least 250 million...

when you heard people talking about the jackpot you knew it was time to get ready...

we didnt win much...

everybody had copies of the tickets...i only checked the mega ball...if the mega ball did not win then it didnt really matter the rest of the line.. i would glance at the line to see if min 2 scored...

its a real pain to collect money though...

i used to be in a work pool...nothing was signed...but everybody who played got a copy of the tickets...either on paper, or in pdf...

its good in pdf so that way the pool heads can make specific mailing lists for certain people...all admissible in court if need be.

i quit the pool when they decided to overthrow my idea for a $50 wheel...

with $50 in quick pics...

i think if you have pool it would be a good idea to have all the members in the pool take a group photo...
