I've noticed the best EV you can get will come from a high jackpot relative to odds, but a much larger jackpot elsewhere (Mega Millions/Powerball. I'd think more on the MM side.) More people spend their money on the big games, for a chance to win 100s of millions, and so the EV goes up.

OK, i thought i could use this to determine when i should skip draws,

but if a growing JP increases the EV and more tickets sold drags it down then i guess i should just go by the size of the JP.

Upon doing a little math, I found that there were about 3.5 million ticket sales. This means that I significantly underestimated the odds of sharing the JP. Assuming around a 20% chance of sharing, the EV would for the next draw is about 64.35 cents on the dollar.

I'm estimating the Expected Value of each one dollar ticket to be around 71.65 cents. (Based on your taking the cash value, being taxed at a rate of 35% by the Federal Government, 10.8% by NJ and an 8% chance of sharing the Jackpot on the win.) I did not factor in taxes to the second prize, since it would affect different people differently and because doing so would only be worth a couple of cents.

I wonder if Cajuns lines are still in play. I like the first 5 lines because they all have the number 8. Eight is the universal number for wealth and I play it on almost all lines. I have a number 8 drawn on the back of a business card, and carry it around in my wallet AT ALL TIMES.

Looks like it rolled again, but i don't know what the new JP is as state website has not updated yet, still says 18.3 mils.

MC56 said he looked up last time it was this high, and found it was 24.3 mils. on6/4//09

might be getting close to that as,

it should begin to pick up speed as it gets fatter, this is enough to make people cross the bridges from DE, PA, NY,

I usually like to pick my own numbers so that I can purposefully add higher numbers into play, making it less likely that I'd have to split the Jackpot if I won.

Oh, I don't know. Probably before I was old enough to play. My dad also mentioned that it rarely gets this high. I've never seen one this high, but I don't get too excited about it. The expected value of a ticket is still negative - although it is high enough for me to buy a couple lines. Tonight I have one, though I may go grab a couple more if I go out before the drawing.

the pic6 here is @ 17.1 mils.

the MM is @ 16 mils.

i bought my routine tix. today,

JC5- 7 draws

MM w/mp- 2 draws

MM w/out mp 2 draws

Pic6- 2draws

had a $2 tip so i bought 1 xtra pic6 and 1 xtra jc5 cause its @ 400,000, 1 draw each.

now i'm wondering if i should have skipped the MM and spent the $6 on on 3 more pic6 for next 2 draws ?

cause ya know the odds are so much better and the JPs are almost the same.
