Also a guy i work with won $25000 about 15 years ago,

no one was getting any of that except the boat dealer,

he ran out and bought a 27 foot sportfisher as soon a he got the money.

Forgot about this till i seen his pic. on the bullitin board at work,

he won an fully paid trip for two on norwegian cruise lines from the company.

The Misouri Lottery website has an excellent page on what to do if you win, they even suggest blowing town, at least for a little while.

I don't see it as running with your tail between your legs at all, more like 'going to the matresses' out of necessity.

As for the other statement you made, it sounded like you were ready to ask her for the 'mordida', the bite.

with Rdge. I just don't understand the self entitlement of give me, give me. And I have said this before, but if someone offered me some of their winnings, it would always end of changing the nature of the relationship. I would say keep your money and save and spend it wisely.

What the honk you talkin about coin, what is wise about running with your tail tucked between your legs and hiding???? One of the smartest things people will ever learn to do is say NO. And its not that hard.

And my second sentence is why??? That doesn't make sense cuz I didn't ask her for JACK. She was the DUMB ASSSS that was TRUMPETING the fact that she had won a bunch of money.

There is a differance between running and hiding and throwing in the FACE of everyone you meet.

I did meet a lady once who was proclaiming that she had won some big thing and my first thought was WELL do you want to share it???? But I held my peace and didn't ask.

Picked no, I don't know any big winners, unless they did't tell me about it, and thats OK too.

I suspect my one cousin my have won, but i never asked and never will unless i win and want to tell him.

reason i think he may have won, is he retired early @ 55

and moved to a small town 300 some mi. away,

where he did,nt know anyone,

and thats advice i read on LP, long after he moved.

The lottery winners that I have run into are just that: Lottery winners. They are people who have been incredibly blessed. No I have not asked them for money. Nor have I asked the millionaires down the road from me for a hand out. Nor have I asked the government for a hand out.

All 3 have one thing in common to me. It's not my money (well arguably the government money... ). Regardless it's not my way.

Just my $.02 but I don't think charities that were told they'd be given something have anyhing to do with an individual being a mooch towards someone who has won a jackpot.

I know of lot of winners , but none that had won a large lottery. Kind of relative however, some people scream and shout if they won $20 off

a scratcher. I might consider leaving a safe or a few alarm clocks on their porch, in lieu of actually asking for a handout.

Honestly I would never expect a lotter winner to give me money. Why? Because I wouldn't give anyone money as a winner.

I'd maybe give money to the person who sold me the ticket but that's about it, aside from family at least. I will admit thought that last week I told some random guy in line that I'd give him something if I won the jackpot, though it was mainly small talk since he wouldn't be quite in line.
