Not too fast, yesterday my cable box got hit by the malware. The TV was changing channels by itself. After 10 minutes or less, it would change the channel to a random channel. First it was the weather channel and later to something else. I know I wasn't changing it because I was all by myself eating at the dining table and the remote was somewhere else. I thought I was infected, went offline Saturday, no internet, nothing!!

Cable guy came over today (Monday), come to find out my building manager saw some guy with a

crowbar by our cable box messing with it, then jumped in his red truck!

What a creep!! Cable guy said someone was messing around with the wires

I even emailed my best charts to myself just to ensure i would not lose them...but then would my emails be safe in the event of an apocalypse??

Agreed. More like a drop in the bucket really. Was dubbed Internet Doomsday , obviously some novice hackers with too much time on

their hands, although they were able to profit over 14 million through an elaborate click fraud scheme by hijacking advertising revenues.

In the end they weren't that bright, as they were caught and are now residing peacefully in the slammer.

the MSN headline says thousands of computers may be infected...

thats not very many considering all the people on the internet...

its not like it say 10.5 million computers at risk...

My computer crashesd last Sunday.

I don't know why but, it just backed out when I was returning to my home page.

I called my systems support team, who are located in Mumbai India.

After receiving software via UPS, I again spoke with my technicians in Mumbai who got my system up and running.

I checked the DNS site and got a Green light.

Now I'll keep my fingers crossed waiting to see what happens on Monday.

This just came on the news broadcast this evening. If your computer is infected with DNS changer malware, Monday will be the last day you can go on the internet. The FBI has set up a site for you to check your computer...only takes a couple of seconds. click the first button to check...If the background is red, you are infected.
