How often do you get a 5-hit when playing your 6/49 lottery?

I have hit 5 of 6 three or four times over the years.

Interesting you would say it that way, hitting 5of6 in a 6/49 game is usually such a big deal for most players that they would remember exactly the number of times it happened.

I don't have a 6-49 but a 6-44. I don't play this game much but over the last 10 to 12 years I have hit

5of6 maybe 5 or 6 times. Hit several of 4of6 and all kinds of 3of6. My 6-44 plays 2 lines for a dollar

or I would not play it at all. I can imagine what it would be like trying to hit a 6-49 with almost 14 million

to one odds. Certain aspects of my 6-44 are easier to hit than my 5-39 but the 3of6 pays a free ticket

which to me is not worth the paper it's printed on. I can't rememb... [ More ]

If there are such players who can match 5/6 a few times in a year when playing a few bucks I'd like to hear about that, even if they don't post something to protect themselves (not everybody wants to share such a success easily), so this is why I made this poll so to be anonymous if they wish so.

The way some players talk about hitting 5of6 in a 6/49 game, it easy to get the impression that they consider it normal to match 5 several times a year even with a modest playing budget. I find it hard to even match three playing 20 lines most of the time.

Just thinking of the options, I think now that this A 5-hit or more every 1-2 months within last year is too much to be applicable by any player when playing only a few bucks. Perhaps this should be Three or more 5-hits within last year so if you are in this situation you can select this option. Obviously not everything is covered by the poll, so if there are more 5-wins over the last years, but not within the last year, the 2nd option should be selected and a post to clarify this would be good.... Not To change the subject - But I just noticed a Multi State Game - Lucky for Life - Only 38 Games played to date: Here what I found so far. 5/40 + 1/21.

I have hit 5 of 6 three or four times over the years. It doesn't happen on a regular basics. The 2nd chart is just to show that 5 of 6 does hit twice on a regular basics. 40 times out of the last 1,896 drawings thru 07/16/12 in the IL Lotto. What are the odds of hitting 5 of 6? I still say that by finding playing combinations patterns, you will have a better chance of winning. There are combinations patterns in all the Games. Once you find a group you like. Wheel them.

I agree with you completely because I've won 5/6 3 times in NJ's 6/49 in 2009 doing this exact same thing, problem is that you can be waiting a very long time for those sets to appear (as you can clearly see from your example above). I matched 5/6 for VikingLottto 6/48 once in 1994 and nothing since.

But I've hit 6/7 once and 6+Bonus/7 once for the Norwegian 7/34 lottery in the last nine years.

Here is a listing of the Illionois Lotto 6/49 that have 5 of six hitting more than once - Below the first chart. You will note the first chart contains my combos patterns for my Group 38 ( which I show in the 2nd chart as lines 3 4 ). When I won my 5 of 6 on 07/13/2011, I played 10 lines for $5.00 - the five numbers that were constant on the card were 03 22 26 30 47 It seem to me at the time was that the odd numbers (those not fitting in) were in the teens. In 2002 I matched 5 after years of buying 10 tickets per drawing for Ohio Super Lotto Plus(6/49+1) however before retiring I participated in a pool with co-workers almost as long that brought 50 tickets per drawing and we matched 5 three times.

In 2005 Super Lotto was replaced with Lot'O Play(6/99) for a year which was replace with Classic Lotto(6/49) which I play occasionally and may match 3 once in a when I'm lucky.

Just curious about the 5-hit wins achieved over the long run. The question assumes any playing strategy, including quick picks, simple tickets or small wheels (playing with more numbers) or even random combinations. For the poll, any playing strategy up to 20-30 tickets maximum is considered acceptable, however winning via lottery pools is not considered for this poll.
