I've been hitting two numbers constantly for 19 consequtive times in MM for last 9 weeks. Maybe trickster God has some naughty trick hidden in his sleeve for me.

Actually, I didn't get to the first sentence. I saw August 2001 and stopped. I generally don't rely on material that is over 10 years old when it comes to laws and regs pertaining to taxes. None of the articles I've read use that term. But I did look it up, and added it to my collection.

So.. my bad. My second of the day. That'll teach me to read LP and drink wine all day on a Sunday..... My bottle's almost empty....

Um, when I said 'give to immediate family' that meant more like parents, siblings, children. Not some charitible gift to some random family in need. There's probably ways around gift tax when giving to family members, but I'd leave that to the experts.

I posted the link so you could check it. There is no reason to pay any tax on money you give to legal charitable organizations, income tax or otherwise.

Even if you are giving to a family, there are lots of organizations who operate for the purpose of doing that, just use them to do it instead of paying the tax. Perhaps you could help two families instead of one

I couldn't check any or all of the above... but 10% off the top for a charity trust, either a remainder trust or a lead trust, whichever my advisors recommend. Thank you THRIFTY. I have been considering this trip since the age of 10, as I have always been an avid Astronomer.

The Alpha Centauri star system is the closest star system to Earth (only 4.3 light years, just a walk in the park astrologically).

None of the above. But what I would do is be a perpetual traveler all over the world for a year or two, stopping and staying a month or so at each place I go just to get the lay of it. After a while, I will reassese every place I visited and the one I decide I like the most will be where I will buy property and live for the rest of my life.

The first thing I would do...upgrade my smile with a visit to a dentist...totally selfish...I know. Of course college funds for those in my family that need them. Then I would donate, anonymously, to various organizations that help veterans, homeless shelters, and food banks. I like the idea of being a fairy godmother...but without fanfare and press coverage.
