carli I seem to have had some luck with the tiers so can you do this for me. i will give you sun mid and eve numbers sun eve. Could you do a combine the 2 for me and post the upper tiers and i will play them for the whole week. Thanks for your help.

Wow, Im so glad She / He was able to resolve it for you .. The only reason I put the extra buttons 2 3 4 etc was if you wanted to do maybe the previous draw also

or if you wanted to look up the different permutations like , 123 132 231 213 etc .

Where did I get the tiers, you asked ? By using the Deflate tool on Lottery Post

carli you are not going to believe this but phileight suggested I change the name of lookuo to another. I did and lo and behold when it ask for a number to enter it prints out the rows and columns to the right that you had sent me. wow wow wow.explain what i get if i enter into draws 2,3,4,5

I bought a copy of VB6 some years ago but never got around to learning enough to use it. Before then I bought a Quick Basic compiler and was learning QB until I learn the QB compiler could compile GWBasic programs. Even downloaded a copy of JustBasic with its tutorial and thought if I learned it I might buy a copy of Liberty Basic which seems closer to GWBasic than VB. At my age, it's just easier to go with what I already know until I have to learn a new way to do the same thing.

hi carli its 8:23 pm I just downloaded what you sent it opened and ask to enter a number which I did and click ok next screen came up on line 11774 the number appeared but gave no list of predictions

RJOH if you can program in GWBasic you can use VBA. just a few differences and you are there. I used to do everything in GWBasic, had a little problem with some simple things at first. fellow LP'ers helped. VBA is easier than GWbasic, 80% or more of the syntax is the same. getting information in and out is different, but easier once you understand it, and it will work with any version of windows.

How true, I'm still adding new features to my old GWBasic programs. Now the only problem I will eventually have they won't run on the newer machines once my XP machines stop working. I just wished I had invested in a better XP laptop.

I suggest that you buy a new computer, when a good version of Windows 8 comes out and the newer version of MS Office.

Also you might get a few evening classes of VBA Excel to get a kick start. Teachers can answer questions, books can only be read.

I honestly wasnt aware that google docs allowed macros, thats good to know.

Another helpful Lper did Pm me a code solution, so for now at least Rettx is back is business .

I do appreciate everyones input and advice .

This was my first attempt at using a macro in a sheet I posted and I should have understood it myself before posting it.

Carli, Retxx might be able to open it and use in oen office or possilly google docs either would keep the marcos , instead of downloading he could use the file in either place but you would need to upload to google docs.

This highlights the main reason to learn how to write your own stuff.

Then your app can be obscure or old as the hills, and you can still get it to do what you need.

I used to see this problem regularly with people using inherited code.

I had saved it as .xls because I thought that had the best chance of being compatible .

I got the code off an excel help forum , other than that, not a clue. I looked at the code and to me it looked pretty basic. but then again, I dont really know VBA

That's most likely the problem. The spreadsheet is probably using a function that was not available in the 2000 version.

Is the file saved as .xls or .xlsx?

Excel 2000 is pretty far back and there are some known VB issues with older versions of Excel with newer (2007 and 2010 specifically) files. Depending on where you got the piece of code, it may only be using newer functions that were developed for Office 2003 or even 2007.

AFAIK, MS has dropped support/service packs for Office versions prior to 2007, but it's possible that there are some add-ins available that may enhance the support for retxx's verson... [ More ]

On my end there are no errors, so I dont know what im looking for to change for whatever error he is having .

He says its a compilation error, thats all I know .

The code looks very basic to me.

Trust me , he has asked Carlig lol

He is using Excel 2000 and I have shared this same exact sheet with several other people and none of them is having a problem with it.

I am not experienced enough to be able analyze and tell him why he may be having an issue if others arent .

It is code that I found on an open excel help forum and then altered to make it do what I wanted. But other than that, Im pretty much excel illiterate.

Sounds like an error in the Macro program code, or else you are using an older version of Excel than what it was designed for. You'd have to ask CarliG.
