I was looking at worldwide jackpots and this Ohio jackpot is right there at #3. What stuck me was that it rolls over by only ~$300,000 at a time, so I looked at the jackpot history. Yep, been there, done that. I'm sure that lucky feeling will hit me again and I'll spend some extra $$. It certainly is frustrating at times.

I just took a 10 day hiatus from looking at the numbers. I was really getting frustrated with the lack of any success, so it was time to take a break. I am off for a couple of weeks for the holidays, so I will get back into it then as I am feeling refreshed.

Ohio doesn't have such things and I'm not willing to pay more than the price of a ticket to play. Besides most of these online places not only charge 2-3 times the price of a ticket to play but they have cut-off times earlier than the states. It really doesn't bother me if the terminals are off line occasionally.

I was forced to skip playing Saturday because all the lottery terminals in town went down a couple hours before the cut-off time which is the time I like to buy my tickets. I survived that and saved some money too so it won't be hard skipping tonight's drawing if it means I can buy more MM tickets for tomorrow drawing and stay within my usual spending habits.

True, but since the winner taking the annuity gets ~1.7M anually the whole $25.5M isn't invested for the whole thirty years.

Ohio is not the only state with a jackpot that size with those kinds of odds, there's probably a state within driving distance of you with something similar.

I think it's the same as other lotteries where the annuity is funded based on cash amount. And since payments 2-30 are equal and not graduated, they can invest at a constant rate. $25.55 million invested at 3.333...% for 30 years gives the full $51.1 million.

Although $48.6M/$24.3M cash is not a large jackpot compared to those of PM and MM, a 30yr $48.6M annuity works out to over $31K a wk for the next 30 yrs. Before I retired if I made twice that much in a year, that was a good year.

Since the odds of winning it are about 1/12 those of PB and MM, I can't see it rolling much longer before someone hits it.

I too noticed none of the numbers in last night drawing had hit in the previous seven drawings which when you consider all the numbers in the previous drawing had hit in the previous seven drawings just shows how random the numbers can be. I however will continue to stick what has been most successful before.

While OCL has great odds for winning a jackpot, the odds of winning a lower prize aren't that great and when they are won the prizes aren't that great. Most 6/49 games pay more than $150... [ More ]

It's the start of another month and OCL continues to roll. It's $39.4M/$19.7M for tonight's drawing. Even though I seem to never do better than a match3 with 10 lines, it's the only game I've match5 this year.

As of the last OCL drawing, I had spent the $1500 I won in February by also playing MM and PB. Maybe I would have done better just sticking with OCL exclusively.

I didn't play OCL tonight but I noticed there were more than 200 predictions and only a couple matched 3 so overall LP predictors are doing a lot worst than the expected overall average. There were even more Rolling Cash5 predictions and not even one match 3.

RC5 has rolled up to $267K for tommorow's drawing so maybe I'll give it a try.

The jackpot continues to roll, it's now up to $37.6M. If this continues, it could have another run up to $50M+ before it's won. It's cash value has already exceeded the cost to play ever possible combinations.

The winning numbers were 01 02 10 12 16 29 and the best I could do was a match3 for $2 with eighth line of my twenty-five seeming to prove once again playing more than ten lines is a waste of money. Oh well, it's back to playing less lines, if I can't win it in ten chances are I can't win it at all.

The jackpot is now $37M/18.5, good luck if you're playing too.

Before Wednesday's drawing all 49 numbers had hit in the previous 28 drawings. I thought that would give me an advantage but the best I could do was a couple of match2 in ten lines. I checked the nearly 1500 combinations that I picked those 10 from and I rejected twenty match3 and three match4. Three of the winning numbers being in Monday's drawing didn't help my system.
