I would welcome a raise in ticket prices for mega millions if it meant bigger jackpots and guaranteed rollover amounts between jackpots like powerball. I already have to pay $2 for some of my in-state games that I like to play like win for life and lucky lines. Plus we have $20 scratch-its here in Oregon why not have a $2 mega millions for all those millions of dollars. Plus for an extra dollar throw in megaplier like powerplay in powerball. no need to be scared when you're prepared. I'm not bragging I'm 100% prepared but I'd like to think I'm more prepared than most people. I hope I win a jackpot while the USD is still worth something, so I can prepare even more and help protect people I care about.

billionaire2be, no, I have not seen, End of the Road I just saw the trailer. It looks like this documentary has Peter Schiff, Mike Maloney, Jim Rickards and G Edward Griffin. I have been reading their books and listening to their youtube interviews for years. I tend to agree with most of their views about where the US economy is heading. I hope they increase MM to two dollars, that way I can boycott that game also.

I need to cut down on my lottery expenditure anyway. This price increase would be great motivation for me to not play at all.

According to ChipP 2 of the Kentucky Lottery Commission, the multi-state games are the most profitable for them.

Would be hard to believe the states are taking any losses on PB.

It all depends on the profit margin.

They'll weather decreased sales if it improves the bottom line.

I read somewhere that Powerball's sales decreased 10% after the price increase to $2 but I don't recall hearing if profits were up, down or the same.

I hope not also. But I read on Texas Lottery Commission meeting minutes that the state lottery commissions around the country are really looking into a national lottery. Still don't know if that means PB and MM will be combined, or if it will be a new game altogther. It's still a ways off from happening, but I think it will happen, I guarantee it will cost more than a buck.

yes, mega millions tickets will go up in price. It might not be this year or the next but it will go up in price eventually. Rising prices are what happens when you take the US dollar off the gold standard. Increasing the money supply is as easy as a few keystrokes and a mouse click at the Federal Reserve. They call it quantitative easing but it's just a fancy term for money printing.

Does anyone think since powerball prices went up that megamillions will follow suit? I mean it's only a matter of time before they see that powerball prices gone up and they are still making money, that it would be benefical for their prices to go up as well? will we be held hostage to pay these higher prices on our lotto like we are everything else
