At first it would be about half and half, welcome and resented, especially resented if they were from NY or Cal.

Then, after a while, even some of those who were resentful about NY or Cal winners would try to put the bite on them (or winners from anywhere).

Well you wouldnt know which would make it cool if someone won a BIG JACKPOT also jackpot in my book means just that all 5 numbers PLUS the mega or powerball. Also they wouldn't be insecure or unstable...unless ranting about being from mars....its not extra attention no more than speaking to anyone ramdomly while standing in a line somewhere for something...

Well how would one know for sure if someone really won? People are not using their real names here so anyone could claim a jackpot win. And if it was known and confirmed and public info (i.e.., my name is really x and I won this jackpot), he/she would be a public figure. Anything they say here could end up in a newspaper, etc. so I think only a rather insecure or even unstable person would want all that extra attention.
