Say, I use game from 08/05/11 to calculate winning numbers: 1-5-18-27-36

I'll use 1,2,3, method.

1-1=0

5-2=3

18-3=15

27-2=25

36-1=35

Next day game is: 3-10-15-27-35. I guessed 3 numbers. Keep your hopes up, people. I could also leave 1 in place, since there is no 0 in this game. Then I'd have 4 numbers matched.

I think chance of picking number correctly increases with ecah next number. To calculate 4th number as member of 4 number group is incorrect. It is still part of 5 number combination. If out of 56 numbers one is already chosen, the next one has to be chosen among 55 numbers., and it makes for a slightly better chance and so on.

Say, you have it nailed down, to guess 1 number among 5. The similar results can be obtained by other quite simple methods as well. One can do it by , say, 5, 6 different ways, and then combine the groups he came up with. Several numbers among them will be repeated, so remove the doubles, etc. What is left is group of numbers that has all 5 numbers in it. Play this group.

Some people assume that guessing 1 number in a combination is cool. But, it does not bring any wins. It is easy to get hanged on ability to get one number right. May be for the sport's sake it's OK, but if one wants to win, it is not satisfactory technique. More has to be done.

We'll I see your point yet Id have to say its because it doesnt work with every single lottery in the world exactly the same. Yet selecting 5 random numbers is quite different than the numbers that one arrives at from doing my math. When you do it my way in some states you will find that you may have a more higher %age of trapping the numbers than in others.

Ok, you are showing that you use 6 numbers, and end up with 5 numbers for the next draw, that means you will hardly ever hit all 6 numbers.

I think you don't even need any formula, you can choose 5 numbers randomly and one will be there most of teh time.

This is what your subtruction technique does, gives you 5 random numbers.

Then again, perhaps your method works better with even amount of numbers, like 6, and not 5 numbers in combination.

It appears that my %age rate of getting the numbers is a bit better than in Florida. So unfortunately you would not be as confidence in playing as I would. Say you've got 10 combinations out of 36 numbers. some of them will have winning number repeated. To guess one number is very easy, because one is choosing among only 36 numbers, say, in Fantays 5., or 49 numbers. Guessing one number does not involve hundreds of thousands of combinations to choose from.

I don't know if it works for all games but the best way I have found to get one correct number match

for my 5-39 is to buy a QP. It sometimes takes more than one but about 60 to 70 percent of the time

that's what I get, lol. Way back I would buy 2 or 3 qp's and wheel/filter all the numbers from them. I

would wind up with 8 to 12 total numbers and a few times I would have 4 of the 5 winning numbers

Because six groups of four numbers creates 20 combination. The ticket cost is $2 and the wheel creates two winning tickets for every win. If I get a 9 number match, I'll have a 3 number match too. I'm just using the Predictions Board to see how much this type of play reduces the cost of play.

Not really much to analyse and only takes a second to check my prediction statistics. I'm using all 24 numbers and placing them randomly into six groups of four. My prize ratio is going up and my hit ratio is about the same. We're running 1 and 2 on the lifetime hit ratio and 2 and 3 in the last 30 days.

I rarely aim for 0/12 and mostly pick to win by hits. I had several 10/12 so far, that explains my price ratio. If I wanted to, I could raise my hit ratio drastically. As I don't live or play in the USA, I am not to motivated to pick the best combinations by analysing for two hours.

The Predictions hit ratio is the number of predictions compared to the number of winning tickets. On Monday's All or Nothing day drawing I had 10 winning tickets out of 20 predictions. Mathematically speaking I would hit 50% average, not 25% average with All or nothing. When I include my experience in picking numbers, I will hit more than 50% average with 5 numbers for this game.

If they're talking about 5 out of 35 or better yet, 5 out of 46 in 95% of the MM and PB drawings, they are on to something. But I suspect they're talking about the Pick-3 where any five of the ten digits are in 87.5% of all the combos.
