I checked the 1 billion box on Monday. I predicted Fri Nov 22 in the story about the JP being for 325 mill for last Sat drawing that if noone hit it Sat it would go over 1/2 billion for Wed. mcginnin56 replied back Sounds like a likely scenario to which i replied back very likely indeed and gave my reasoning for my prediction. With tickets selling at an average rate at times of 100,000 a minute and with random quick picks averaging at least 50% of the tickets sold, a large majority of all 174,000,000 number combinations will have been selected...

Overwhelming odds that it's not going to roll over again, and that there could be more than one winner.

I think exactly that way with scratch offs, I think because it's over so quick. I don't buy them anymore.

I never think that with draw games. I get lots of enjoyment out of thinking about winning, so I just count it as money spent towards entertainment. Other people spend money on movies, eating out, magazines, and other stuff that has no appeal to me. I spend my extra money on lottery.

The numbers that have a fill color of Blue or Grey pertain to each individual group - Odd Groups have Blue - Even Groups have Gray. Only reason for this is to seperate the different Groups in my master file. The Group numbers that are filled with Green tells me that the two or more lines involved have matched at least 4 of 5 numbers in both of these Group Lines. The numbers with a Yellow fill tells me that this number with at least 2 other numbers in that same line match 3 numbers in another Gro... [ More ]

Just try giving up something in exchange for the money then you will not feel badly about it. I gave up starbucks so this is now the money from that coffee. But if that $20 would have been used for something essential (rent, a mortgage payment, etc). then you should not be playing (in my opinion).

No. I prefer to think of it as what if I didn't play my numbers for $2. I might have hit for a second tier prize, or even the jackpot.

We never know when our time is coming.

I never dwell of the small stuff I could have bought with my lottery money, it's just small stuff.

I understand the right chart with the Powerball frequency as it's easy to read however I'm not sure how to read the data on the left chart. What do all of the different numbers and colors represent? That is crazy, one year, I remember a guy who had his kids out hunting for returnable cans, he spent it all on lottery tickets, My thoughts, are if you need your kids to scour through gas station garbage looking for cans, maybe you need to use that money to support your kids.
