ya know after a sleepless night I hide the ticket tell no one then Waite a week or two, Call my kids and do a three way split. Then I buy this little home on a hill over looking lake Erie tear it down and rebuild a new one. Take care of my brothers sister give some to the Sandy victims . and have a good life.

Since I live in North Carolina - I would first try and figure out a way to keep my anonymity. If at all possible - I wouldn't tell a single soul. No newspaper or television interviews, no picture on the website - I woudn't want anyone to know.

I'd share about $5M with family.

Spend no more than $900K for a house (I'm sure I wouldn't need that much).

Set aside $180K for professional interior decorations and improvements.

Set aside $30K for vacations.

Put $300K in my pocket.

I would honestly spend very little out of fear of becoming poor again. I'd maybe spend $500,000 max on a house. $65,000 for a Cadillac CTS-V. What else...hmmm can't think of any other big purchases. I'd try to live off less than $200,000 a year which would be real easy with no house or car payment. I'm sure I'd still use coupons, search for deals, and still buy clothes at thrift stores.

My first order of business would be to quickly get my planning in place this week and claim the prize next week. Then go on a previously planned vacation. Then come back and get a thorough medical checkup and fine tune my diet and exercise program to not sabotage my longevity. I would still go to work the next day (I would not know if I won till the next day and the ticket would still be in my purse). So I would sign it and hide it till the end of the day in my desk (and tell no one) and make some copies. I would arrange a lunchtime/or late afternoon visit to a nearby major law firm and lay low for about 2 weeks to get things in order. I would sign my name and my mother's name to the ticket and then wait until december third to take it into the lottery office. Mom and I are going to split this jackpot because we both put are money together to get tickets. So both tickets are signed and I would do 50% to 50% split on the money. I do know one thing for sure i would not do and that is continue to work. My job consist of dealing with the public. I have to deal with people complaining and bitching sometimes. Also i am not an early morning person. So if i would happen to win a large amount of money the last thing i would be doing is dragging myself out of bed to go to a job that involves the above.

It having to deal with the problems of what to do after winning that much money that turn some people off to buying tickets when the jackpot gets that large.

Some people just don't care to deal with a lot of unsolicited advice from family, lawyers, financial planners and the rest so they just wait until the jackpot goes back to a more reasonable and manageable amount.

I would do what most would advise, lawyer, CPA, financial planner. I would find a very secure place to keep it. Until you give to lottery office, it's just a piece of paper. I would travel learn a few languages. I would give a lot to family and friends I could give $100 million away and still have more than I would ever need. I would enjoy life then. Nothing but free time now.

Would you just invest in tax free muni bonds which wouldn't beat inflation but would net you around $200,000 per month tax free....and do nothing but hang out and travel?

Me personally, I would have to do something. I would go stir crazy with nothing to do....never ending vacations would get tiresome....
