There has been several LP news stories of lottery winners being kill by family and in-laws so they would inherit their winnings. Remember Abraham Shakespeare of Florida who was killed by a woman posing as a writer who took over his bank account. Some times winning even a small jackpot has resulted in killing or being killed by those close to the winners.

I would have felt more like playing had the old rule when it reached a new jackpot level the second prize pool would get a bonus been still in play. But since I stand little chance of winning the jackpot and playing just increases its value, I'll have to give it some thought before even picking some numbers to play.
