The estimated cash jackpot for the guaranteed $110 million advertised jackpot for Wednesday's draw is now $70.2 million, which is actually OVERfunded by an estimated $5 million, based on expected sales of $32 million for Wednesday, in addition to the total $202 million of the previous seven draws. If it is not won Wednesday, it will probably finally rise by more than $10 million for Saturday.

According to Lotto Report website the six rollovers since the last PB win generated $164M in sales which should have generated $52M cash for the jackpot. If sales for Saturday drawing are at least $29M as they have been for the last two drawings, another $9M will be added to the cash amount which make it about on target for the projected cash value.

RJOh, you are correct. The current Powerball cash jackpot of $63.5 million is actually $0.5 million OVERfunded, based on expected sales of $36 million for Saturday (in addition to its actual total sales of $164 million for its first six jackpots in the current run), but they need to deduct a percentage of sales at times from the jackpot in order to replenish their set prize/guaranteed jackpot cash reserve. Did you noticed both games increased their cash values for this weekend about $6.4M? Since both get 1/3 of sales for their jackpots, MegaMillions sales will have to increase to $19.2M from $18.2M to cover its increase while if PB sales increase from $28.8M it will have an extra $3M over what it needs to cover its increase.

Yeah, I'll bet their emergency funds were at their cap after November's jackpot run. However, they probably still need to draw down the jackpot for a while once it gets over $110 million, but it probably won't be by more than 2% of sales, per their rules.

They're betting once or twice a year the jackpot will trigger jackpot fever. They made $1/2 billion on the record jackpot run so they don't mind paying out an extra million or two a few time a year.

Considering tonight's Powerball was the same as one of the five white balls, it really will be a curse (to the MUSL) if the jackpot is won again. I tried to cash in on this curse by playing tonight, but only one of my numbers was picked, and it wasn't even the Powerball.

The cash value is determined by the current interest rate on the investment they would make to achieve the 50 million annuity. The cash value doesn't have anything to do with sales.

The last time the PB jackpot was at 50 million the cash value was 33m. Today it stands at 32.7. If anything there's a decline in sales. The holiday frenzy for lottery expired after the 587m jackpot was won.

I think casual players will regain momentum in the New Year.

Well, the Powerball jackpot is now at $50 million again, where it was won the last two times. Will it roll to $60 million for Saturday or will it hit again? My vote is no because I'm not playing Wednesday. If it is won again, the MUSL folks will be really steamed, because they're really hurting paying off these guaranteed jackpots.
