Well P6..... you could also take it as a free education of what NOT to do with newly acquired wealth. The old idea of learning from histories(in this case other folks) mistakes should make a savy person take a moment to think and say Hmmmmm, I ain't going down that road .............Just food for thought............ I wouldn't watch such a show, I don't find others' misfortune to be entertaining. I think all of this exploitive programming on TV has to end, it's all just sickening to me.

Yes, I would watch a show on lottery winners going broke... personally, I would be able to manage it. I've made alot of money in the past and lost it all, still trying to recover. I won't make the same mistake when I win.

I'd much rather just read about it here on LP. Watching TV is a bit of a rarity for me these days, but when I do I prefer to watch Sci-fi, FOX News, HGTV and DIY programming.

I think everyone who seriously plays lottery should go through financial mamagement classes, ahead of time, like now, so when they win big they have no problems dealing with large amounts of money. If they do not win, at least they have a long lasting skill that will help them manage whatever they have, successfully.

I am saying this because I am tired and frustrated to hear about all those big winners screwing their lives instead of thriving. Such facts only spook people away from lottery. O... [ More ]

I probably wouldn't watch and for the same reason I wouldn't watch weekly shows about retirees losing all their saving to a Nigerian lottery scam or to a ponzi investment. Besides, each show would be more of the same we spent way too much on frivolous stuff .

I think that show was on E network or entertainment network.(114 on dish)

Theres also a show called overnight jackpot millionaires on something called ameri chanel (194 on dish)

those #s possibly apply only to my area.

I think I would.. But I know it would be depressing though. Everytime they show the show lottery changed my life about this 18 year old who won. he had invested in a hotel with someone else.. lost 1.8 million because his partner invested the hotel loan on aother property. Took him 5 years to find a job because the town resented him.. That story get me every time, so sad..

In some cases I think it should be mandatory.....Like Donald Lawson....I think he may benefit from watch a What you should not do show about winning the lottery....he's trolling the internet for a love interest....Look out Jack Whittaker you got competition a gaining on you...

The Jack Whittaker story is sad. Having been a hardworking man that worked himself up to a millionaire, you'd think he would've been more careful with the lottery money, but it's easy to say what you will and will not do until you've won a jackpot that size. I'd imagine he'd give every cent back to have his family back. From what I've read, he seemed like a good hearted fella.....perhaps too giving for his own good.....I'm sure he'd do everything differently if he had a second chance...At least... [ More ]

The reality shows that we have on tv nowadays focus on the private side of the people rather than the topic. For example I love love love Nova documentaries on PBS (Shame on Romney for wanting to end its funding lol ). We never get to see the private lives of the scientists that are interviewed. I like that.

Project Runway, America Next Top Model, Top Chef, Real House Wives...

After reading the article about Jack Whittaker, I realized that a reality show about lottery winners who lost it all wouldn't be a bad idea. I know TLC has that show about how the lottery changed people's lives for the better (mostly), but maybe there should be a show about how an instant winfall may not always be a good thing. What do you think of the idea
