The group will spend $1000 and win only $900. It means every game will make your close knit group of friends 10% poorer. After only 10 games the group is loosing $1000 dollars, while investing $10000 and recovering $9000. Not good at all. After 27 games ( they are required in this case so everyone can get $900 in his turn) group looses $2700 after investing, spending $27 000. I think it would be according to how much I'd have to invest to win 500.00 with those odds...If i'm going to pay a dollar, I'd rather have a chance on winning a larger jackpot, despite the better odds, but that's just me.....Perhaps the fly-by-nighter will return and tell us more about what his toss and run question is all about........

Ok here's how I'd tweak ur idea. Play online. Where it's payout is 900$$$. Take 27 people. Form a tight knit lotto group. Every draw your odds of winning would be 1 in 27. Because every draw. Every possible combination would be bought. Each member is assigned 38 numbers to play every draw In straight form...

cost for entire group will be $1000/ 1000 numbers. Guaranteed hit for 1 lucky member every draw...

now the issue is getting paid your winnings..... Chime in on my idea pls....

Unless someone organize non profit lottery, such low odds and high pay out will not work. Say, I will start lottery with such odds, nonprofit. If I want someone to win $500, but there should be 27 investors so to say, then the price of the ticket should be 500: 27=$18.52. The lucky one out of every 27 people will get his $500. The unlucky one might never get his win.
