I have a couple more herbs to add to your collection, the are of course moon herbs,

Thanks Ridge, I have a couple pine trees on my property and am looking for , information on them, I got a Jack pine, that towers over all of the trees, and a white pine and blue spruce, I think I'll do some research on trees indiginous to America.

Grandmother Moon,

In Wicca, the Moon holds a high place, as with the elements. Certain spells are done during these times, used in conjunction with the elements and or, herbs, stones, crystals, invocations of the Gods, Godessess, or other dieties.

The Moon phase also correspondes with Sabbats and Esbats, more on that later.

Right now, we are at a 79 percent waxing gibbous moon, we are getting close to a full moon.

Now for an Elemental set up,

North-Earth, will be at the top, This is where you would keep you bowl of salt, stones, plants , flowers, offering cakes, and a green taper Candle.

East-Air, incense, feathers, bell, wand, Yellow taper candle

West-Water, Bowl of water, seashells, Chalice, Blue taper Candle

South-Fire, Athame, boline, or utility knife, candle snuffer, Red taper candle

Now that you have consecrated your elements, you need to consecrate your tools, you need only do this once, and as you add a new tool or gem, you will need to do this only to the new item.

The moon is associated with water, The quality of water is rivers, lakes , oceans , Water is an inward Female.

Waters direction is West, time of day Sunset or twilight, your season is Autumn.

Water is also associated with birth and death.

Hi Ducksafloat, the 5 tides are different phases in the moon cycle, in magik, you preform certain spells or charms during those times, also esbats are associated with the moon.

There is much material to cover, so I will lay the ground work layer by layer, can't have someone casting spells without knowing how to consecrate their tools.

What is Wicca,
