I would rather take the $6, pick my own numbers for All or Nothing then to play the Lotto where the Odds are way higher. Don't care if I would get a free All or Nothing. The chance of winning something is on the All or Nothing as I usually get 8 of the numberes every day. Had 10 numbers once and 9 numbers 3 different times. If I pick a set of numbers to win, I play the opposite because if I have them one way, I will have them the other and the payoff would be $500,000 instead of $250,000. I neve... [ More ]

Thanks for the info rcbbuckeye, that 5 out 6 new prize would have been GREAT 3 years ago when DH got 5 out 6 he won $2670.00

I think the closest they came to having casinos in Tx was when they talked about turning old Reunion Arena in Dallas into one. That died a quick death. LOL.

Really, I know several people that go to Winstar in OK and over to Shreveport. You would think the powers that be would wise up to that. Doesn't really matter to me because I never was too fond of casinos. I played in Harrah's a couple times in New Orleans and that was enough for me.

They just can't leave a good thing alone, can they? IMHO, if they want to draw more people into playing, and increase profits, stop jacking the prices up and make the rewards better with what you have. You know, that old reward vs risk thing.

And another thing... why do they feel compelled to shuffle the deck (pre-draw tests) 6 times for Lotto Texas!! Aren't the odds against the player high enough for them?? Lord knows you just don't want to give ANY edge to the players!!!

BTW, be on the lookout for changes in Lotto Texas around April. There is going to be an option to pay an extra dollar which changes the payouts for non jackpot prizes. I can't remember all the payouts, but I think 5 out 6 numbers correct will get you $10,000. And getting 2 numbers correct will pay $2.

They keep looking for ways to charge $2 a play.

When I go play Lotto Texas this weekend, I will ask the clerk if that's possible. Thanks for the tip HoLeeKau.

You're right, most of the cashiers are not subject matter experts in running those machines. And who am I kidding, the software to run those things seems pretty complex. Probably take a day or two for most of us to learn.

Couldn't agree more rcbbuckeye ... not going to spend the $6.

I enjoy the Lotto Texas game over the Mega Millions and Powerball. No bonus ball to mess with. I play about $5 a week with my own numbers. And I admit that the All or Nothing game has caught my attention. Still learning strategies on that one.

I'd bite on the promotion if they didn't make it more difficult for playslip players. I'm not going to hold up a line of people so the cashier can manually enter numbers. That's craz... [ More ]

In Idaho they can scan more than one playslip if they tell the machine it's a multiple. Most of them don't know how, but I saw one gal do it. She turned around and asked the customer if that was all, and when he said yea she hit a button and printed out 2 tickets. Wonder if TX has a way too? Most of the clerks don't learn anything except what's absolutely necessary, unless they also play lottery.

They do promos like this from time to time, but I was puzzled as to why they decided on $6, instead of $5.

Oh well, I don't care 'cause I only play 1 or 2 bucks on any of the jackpot games anyway. And while I play one All or Nothing draw each day, that promo isn't going to get me to spend $6.

And to let you also know...

I have a bud who told me that he contacted the Lottery Customer Service Dept to complain that the promotion was skewed to make it difficult for the playslip players. He said that the poor customer service rep was kind and helpful, but really couldn't do anything.

If somebody wants to play more than $6 and take advantage of the promo, and there's a line of people with one cashier, sure makes it uncomfortable for both the customer and the cashier.

For all of you that play the Texas Lotto, and want to take advantage of the All or Nothing Promotion, and are a play slip player....

The promotion is to buy $6 or more Lotto Texas on 1 ticket and Get A Free All or Nothing quick pick ticket.

The process of getting $6 on one ticket makes it very difficult for the playslip player (only 5 lines to a playslip) to take advantage of the promo and really puts a burden on the poor cashiers.
