Its' my understanding that In india, this name is as common as smith, no disrespect ment to anyone named Smith.

I work in a big hotel and almost half the ppl. in the housekeeping dept. have this surname.

I just heard a funny story about a store owner who got hooked with the expensive $10 scratch offs. Perhaps someone told him that it was his destiny to win the million $ ticket, so he kept scratching those expensive tickets. His M O though, was he won't activate any losing batch and kept re-ordering. The state was just happy to oblige and kept sending them until the set expired. Lol there has been a bunch of people scammed by Patels in many lottery articles posted here at LP but I don't necessarily believe all Patels are dishonest. The ultimate responsibility rests with the player. Check your own tickets or hand them over when they are all signed at the back.

Calm down guys, I don't think he was being completely serious.

Besides, there have been a number of Patel clerks who sold a winning ticket where the winner wasn't scammed.

If anything it sounds like it'd be good luck to those who believe in that. Just be extra careful with your ticket

Ut oh. A very popular restaurant in our town with an adjoining liquor store that sells lottery tickets was just sold to someone with the last name of Patel!

I don't think I'll be buying tickets there!

PS,

Maybe this is a different kind of Patel though. He bought a liquor store across town that had lotto and he discontinued lotto in that store.
