You can buy 5 tickets for the sweet millions for the same price. So the odds per 5 dollars spent would be 5 in 3.8 million, which is better.

Assuming that all you care about is the chance to win a large prize, then I'd say that the sweet millions is preferable, but it probably has a lower overall expected return that the scratch offs.

NY Sweet million has odds of winning top prize is 1:3.8 million.

$5 scratch lotteries have odds of winning 1:3.8 million.

Is it better to play 5 games of NY SM as opposed to one scratch lottery? I know scratch lottery generally have lot of smaller prizes. Assuming you are not interested in small prizes
