My little woman who thinks playing the lottery is just as sinful as those who do not tithe would not know when I would come in and say, I have to fly to D.C. tomorrow to obtain entry visas for counties I will be traveling to the next six months. I would have a large suitcase already packed with my snorkel gear and a few clothes and another for trips where I only look at the water but want to travel light. I would quit in a heartbeat if I won the lottery. First off I have a job as opposed to a career. I work on the phone 8 hours a day trying to get people to do surveys and it's the kind of place where rejection is part of my daily life. The point isn't volunteer work at all. Consider 'doing it for no pay' as an idiom, an expression. The only job I'd have is volunteering. The major reason for not wanting a job would be so I could be free and not tied down to doing what someone wants, when they want. Imagine, you decide randomly you want to take a vacation somewhere. If you're still working, it could be weeks before you're able to actually go. Now imagine you've quit that job. You can pack your suitcase right away and go on down to the airport.

Local schools, churches, homeless shelters, hospitals and public parks always need volunteers. Not challenging enough? there are many causes that need to be addressed such as teaching financial literacy to the laymen, counselling of the youth on issues affecting them or joining environmental protection pressure groups. I hope you can achieve one of your goals each year even if you don't win the lottery. Ive been to the Grand Canyon a few times and the small plane sight seeing tour is the best. It only takes about 45 minutes to see everything from a plane, but its worth the trip.

I don't agree about the no pay part. Fair wages for labor. I am sure I and others would not stay forever, but it was more about leaving your work with things in order....not staying there forever. I would leave after a while since I know a couple of coworkers who are money obsessed and nosy would drive me crazy. But I would still do my own self employed career since I worked hard for it and I enjoy it. I would just pursue it at a more leisurely pace.

Studeis have shown that most Americans don't like their jobs, they are working merely for the paycheck. Most jobs are just something people have learned to do and once lesrned do it by rote over and over and over ad nauseam.

Studies have also shown that the most common time for a heart attack is on Monday mornings during the commute to work hours - people despise the thought of going back to their jobs so much tht their bodies actually shut down on them.

Now Mr. Maringo, if one competed against a lot of other people to get a job and you worked your way up and your name is on a special project or matter (it is your baby ), I don't see why anyone would be expected to give up their job for others if they won the lottery. It is not that easy to hand over your baby to anyone and just leave it.
