Got my powerball ticket from my neighborhood store in Long beach California, ready for wednesday. People yu dont have to go to bluebird liquor store in hawthorne CA to be a winner, if it is your luck yu claim it.

Powerball tickets go on sale in California for the very first time on Monday, April 8th.

For the April 10th draw, Powerball is $60 million annuity or $38.9 million cash. Each ticket is $2.

For the April 9th draw, Mega Millions is $56 million annuity or $42.3 million cash. Each ticket is $1.

The Powerball jackpot popped again and is back at $40 million while Mega Millions is at $42 million. If it doesn't pop again Powerball will be $60 million for the first drawing California will be able to buy tickets starting on April 8th.

Assuming that neither Powerball or Mega Millions are won and re-set,

the Powerball jackpot will be $80 million for the Wednesday, April 10th drawing

Mega Millions will be about $56 million for the Tuesday, April 9th drawing.

When Californians have a choice, it would be interesting to see how many people will decide to buy $2 Powerball tickets instead of the $1 Mega Millions tickets when the jackpots will be close to the same amount and the odds of winning are about the same.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear the first time.

There will be more Californians (hordes) buying tickets on the first draw than on the subsequent draws until the jp reaches the higher ranges again.

So let me reiterate:

It will be won in California on the first draw, April 10th.

If I'm wrong about this, I vow not to eat any pomegranates for 5 years.

no one really knows for sure. The jackpot can be won and re-set on any draw.

you'll see after the huge $588 million jackpot in November, Powerball was stuck in the $50 million range for a month. The jackpot would be re-set to $40 million, roll to $50 million and then won.

the PB jackpot is back to $40 million. So for California's first shot at Powerball, the April 10th draw, the jackpot should be $80 million if no one wins until then.

If the Powerball jackpot is at least double the Mega Millions jackpot, then PB tickets will be selling like hotcakes in Cali.

California and New York keep being compared. I understand they are similar because they have large populations and large economies but one difference they have is Powerball has been available in New York for years and Powerball will be available in California for the first time in April.

May onwards.l have also noticed that NYers don't go bigtime for the PB while the jackpot is low. Perhaps the idea that one has to pay double for a ticket unlike MM resonates with them.

Like Rdgnr said, it's a good possibility that California might win the very first night...just think about how many powerball tickets are going to be purchased in California for that draw???? Someone there stand a chance on drawing the winning combination, but then again, I've learned with lotteries, expect the unexpected.....Who knows? I think at least one more Powerball jackpot is certain to be won before California joins though, especially seeing as its increased by more than $10 million Wednesday night, when no one hit it. On the last several runs before this, it took two more draws for this to happen.
