Maringoman: l thought the whole point of having jackpots was to see them RISE? In a way l am glad that its going the way it has,with California thrown into the PB mix its exactly as some had foreseen it. Go higher Baby until someone brings you home. It seems this thread lifted the PB curse on Illinois when someone from there hit 6 days after it was posted.

ridge, if you'd be so kind as to remove the Powerball curse on Texas so that Texas could have a Powerball jackpot winner, we'd appreciate it. We've won 2nd a few times, including with powerplay, but never the jackpot.

Since PB is $40M/$25.1 and MM is $34M/$25.1 and both with odds of 1:175M and Ohio Classic Lotto is at $31.5M/$15.8 with odds of 1:14M , why haven't I won OCL instead of just coming close twice

we're not sure how this works exactly. All we know is someone posted here complaining why illinois never wins powerball-why and then illinois wins powerball. Maybe if you complain you never win and why, you'll end up winning.

I actually feel kinda bad about putting the curse on them in the first place, dallas.

It was so silly on my part as I look back now at the circumstances.

It was during another one of their governor's corruption trials.

It was Rod Blago Blagojevich.

I just got so darn tired of seeing him on tv with that goofy hairdo hanging in his face that I just flipped out one night and put a curse on the whole dam state that said they would never win Powerball again.

You are right that some states win the Powerball more frequently.

That would lead you to conclude that some states don't win as frequently.

Therefore logic would dictate that you stop playing the Powerball immediately, in order that the same states that always win, will continue to win.

Yep... IL got powerball in Jan 2010... however, we are the fifth most populous state in the US. As Todd indicated, people win, not states... Pennsylvania leads the pack with 15 big winners and has had powerball since 2002... don't quote me on the winner stats here.

You'd think IL would have more than just 1 JP winner by now... same population as Pennsylvania.

Indiana is next with 11 big winners and has half the population of IL and PA, but PB has been around since 1990 in IN.

Illinnois had the Big Game which became Mega Millions for a loing time before states could have both Mega Millions and Powerball. Illinois hasn't had PB for all that long compared to the original PB states.
