A few years ago I took a trip to up north for some other business and I did go by the lottey's h/quarters,

did'nt go inside, just want to know exactly where it is.

Been to one in Virginia. If i knew they had a scratchoff machine i would of brought enough $$ to buy each one. Should of seen her face when i gave her my NY liscense.

you wouldn't believe what i did one time i send $2500.00 cash to my friend and when she went to get her mail at the post office the clerk said do you want to pay the postage she's like okay i guess, dummy me forgot to put a stamps on the envelope

Well...I've never won more than $1,000...twice. I've also had a couple of $700+ wins. It was real cool walking up to the window (just like at the bank); handing the lady your winning ticket (just like a withdrawl slip) and she issues me a $1,000 check on the spot. Prints it out right in front of me.

I sign a special form that specifiies I will be responsible for the taxes and I walk out happy. I always make sure to claim my winnings when doing taxes. I'm not sure if they gave me the option o... [ More ]

Never been inside one but l find what you posted intriguing this line of yours they hand you your winnings right away - do they deduct the federal State tax off the top as well? Out here in California you can have the retail store where you purchased the ticket pay you out up to $599.00- anything above that you need to go through their lottery offices but you making it sound like the local lottery offices have some serious cash floating around. I won 200K, and waited less then twenty minutes to receive my check.

I arrived near opening time on a Monday morning with little fanfare, there were only 2-3 other people in the office at the time.

No one was asking to take my picture or get a story line.

Truthfully , I've had more excitement in going to my dentist.

Wouldn't mind walking into a office with a jackpot winning lottery draw ticket, don't play scratch tickets or the draw games often. Only when I see a big jackpot or feel lucky.

We(DH I) have only visited one Lottery Office and that was in Dallas. Hubby said he did get a little excited while waiting in line and seeing the other winners he said there was two ladies behind him and they were telling to play the pick 4 each of the ladies won $5,000 a piece he said they don't waste their time on any other game except the Pick 4

our state office has a cashier behind glass to hand out the days cash payments. and a secuity door, fot he larger prizes. I have never ben thru the security ddoor.

I've only been there once when cashing a Florida Fantasy Five ticket, 4 out of 5 worth a little over $700.00.

This was when Florida didn't have a cap on 4 out of 5. Now it's capped at $555.00.

It was just one ticket that I bought using a technique that hasn't worked since. lol

I fill out the betslip as fast as I can without really paying attention to what the numbers are. If i make a mistake and mark a space in between two boxes, I pick the box that was the closest and re-pick the corr... [ More ]

It would be a beautiful day to visit the Mass lottery Braintree office, in Braintree Mass. Maybe I would make an appointment and be fashionably late lol nah I wouldn't.

The NY Lottery has an office in the 2nd level of Empire Casino in Yonkers. Of course, after they gave me my $1K prize from a scratch-off, I had the check cashed and went downstairs to play. It took me a lot to pull away and make my win last. I guess I would avoid this office unless you really need to. Too much temptation.

Same here all I ever won you can cash at any retailer....but I am also hoping to make the 60 mile trek up to the headquarters and hopefully cash in on a big ole ticket....sadly it wasnt this last big one....oh well

I've never won an amount ($5000+) that required me to go to the regional lottery office. All my prizes too large for the retailer have been handled by a local authorized bank. Usually most of its customers are doing regular banking business.

I'm looking forward to making the 60 miles trip to the regional office someday but first I'll have to win at least a state jackpot or second prize in one of the multi-state games.

I so enjoy whenever I have a reason (I won!) to visit my local Lottery office. It's such a magical place in a way. A place where most everybody you see there on line with you is a winner....happy. They hand you your winnings (money) right away...no problem. Just like making a withdrawl from the bank. I was talking to a guy on line who won 10 grand on one of the lower tier mega prizes. I hang out at one of the largest lotto retailers in NY and the customers I talk to all feel the same way.
