First, a ticket isn't lost until you absolutely can't find it so I would look for it before thinking it was lost.

Second, unless you play a particular set of numbers, record or make out play slips for your tickets, you have no way of knowing you bought the winning ticket.

If the ticket is claimed within a few days of the drawing by someone I didn't know who bought it at a store I had never shopped then I would assume I was imagining things and just forget about it.

Yeah...that. Or not .... hopefully they can kinda verify it by camera...an if the same clerk/clerks tell the truth that yes without a doubt it was him .

i wouldn't care if i lost a winning ticket if it was to be lost there would be nothing you could do about it. why stress it

by the way i have found winning tickets that i forgot to check after moving then it was to last to cash them in.

Some guy in the UK lost his ticket and he won a few million I believe, the lottery knew he won and they said they can't bend the rules so no ticket no prize.

I always know where my tix. are.

As to your hypothetical ?

I would call the lottery, tell them the #s I bought,

where I bought them, (patel's liquor)

Time date I bought them, ( my receipt from yesterday says 3/26/2013 06:21:54 pm) credit card co. can verify time.

the receipt is for beer so I got my tix. about 3 min. before that,

and I should be on video.

If tix. are SPs, I can show them older losers w/same #s

Impossible...I dont write the numbers down....I just check the tickets the next day...and I always leave them in the same place...Ive never lost anything from one day to the next anyway...maybe a few days but never from one day to the next

You absolutely positive its your ticket because you wrote the numbers down on a separate piece of paper..

You have since checked that pants pocket, that shirt pocket and looked into every inconceivable place you think you may have been too.

What would be your next move or do you abandon hope from that point on
