No, not all of it. Just about 95% of it probably.

Cuz there's probably about 5% of the people on it who really need it.

We just need to unload the ones who've taken our safety net and made a hammock out of it.

The only reason there is a redemption is because he is a deadbeat dad.

He's going to pay about $70 million in taxes and I wonder what percentage of that will be distributed in EBT cards.

I think that's a little too vague for anybody to want to get involved with it.

There's no shortage of charities out there if somebody wants to give.

Not everyone avoid supporting their family so that kind of redemption isn't needed for everyone. Why do people who avoid their responsibilities assume every one is doing the same

Now that the states knows he has the funds to pay, it doesn't matter weather he's interested in helping his family if the state has been doing it for him. He'll probably be paying a lot more than that $29,000.

I read where he was $29,000 behind on child support and apparently not interested in helping them before.

Wealth redistribution through taxes and playing the lottery are not the samething. Playing the lottery is 100 percent voluntary. You have to make a choice to play the lottery. You can always opt out of playing the lottery anytime you want. You can not opt out of paying taxes.

Making amends was specific to Alfred Nobel. Winning a lottery is a joyous event. If there can be any guilt about it is that the millions the winner is awarded from came from the millions who lost. Its the biggest wealth redistribution scheme ever invented. It makes Obama look like a wimp.

The Nobel Prize was started by a man whose invention caused the untimely death of lots and lots of people. Making amends, his charity is causing a lot of good to the world his invention continous to destroy and wreck havoc upon.

The Lotteries by its mandate already benefits our society as a whole. Surely, another charity started by people fortunate enough to be chosen by fate to benefit most can go a long a way to building upon what the Lotteries have started.

Jack Whittaker, a PB jackpot winner set up a charity like that with a board of three local ministers and contributed $20M of his winnings to it and the only stories I ever read about it were from people complaining about it. When ever his name comes up, no body ever thinks of the money he gave to charities.

If I won big, I wouldn't just donate to a foundation. I would actually go and buy items to help, just so I know my money hasn't gone to waste.

There are different charities because givers have different feelings on different needs. For example, many people would never give money to Planned Parenthood and for that reason alone they would hesitate to donate money to that common fund which they cannot control. I don't think your proposed idea would fly.

For me personally I would not put my charitable contributions into any type of community fund. I would want to make the decisions of the groups I would like to benefit and not be co-mingled with others. I wouldn't even put it into the community fund where I live, I see their grants that they make and I cringe everytime.

EEEhhh it's still kinda pushy...i mean you could build it and they could not come....Cause people dont really like to be to told give to charity they like to make that choice on their own....say it's established and at the press conference they ask you in front of God and everybody if you're going to give to it...Well you'd feel like a heel if you said no...Or say you don't do the press conference and just decide not to give to it they may say they didnt even give to the state charity thing or w... i was thinking id pay them a few $1000 to talk to them and learn from their mistakes, kind of financial misadvisors maybe write a book,

how not to win the lotto based on their stories. after the book is written. i would have some sound grounding in what not to do.

Upon my first jackpot win, I plan on setting up a trust fund for past, present and future lottery winners that lost it all.

The charity fund will be dubbed The Jack Whittaker Emergency Relief Fund .

I was in a retailer yesterday and there was this guy who thought the PB winner will bring his winnings over to the Dominican Republic where hes from. He respect the fact that the guy won and its his money. But the thought of US $$$$ moving offshore bothers him.

IMHO, the Dominican Republic while poor is much better off than their neighbors in Haiti. They are a hardworking and family oriented group of folks. I think the taxes he paid for his winnings are enough and he should know best how to s... [ More ]

I still believe in Build it and they will come . It will be great if all State Lotteries will support this idea. Theres a lot of money flowing out of the lotteries and a small percentage of that focused on a common fund will be a positive thing.

The NJ PB Winner said he will help his family. I applaud him for that. I also wish he will be the first one to start a single charity fund that other lottery winners, past and future, can contribute to.

I think this fund can grow very easily and make a huge impact on the lives of many.
