All you people who think it's crazy or otherwise ill-advised to borrow money to play the lottery are being a little unfair to our serious players here - maybe even insulting. I'm surprised you're not being called down by these players for your blasphemy. I've seen system players boast of returns ranging from 200% to as high as 500%. So, with the right player, it might be a good investment to back them.

Hey, if you're happy with your results, that's all that counts. This should help offset some of those $90 and $100 losing days you posted the tickets for.

I can safely say I NEVER received a 5 line QP with the same bonus number on each line, winning ticket or otherwise.

BTW, what WAS your total outlay and wins over the 18 draws

Sorry you missed the fireworks Jammy. Even though I got 5 times BETTER ODDS using a subset of 28 each draw I think 2 times BETTER ODDS is more likely a safe consistant goal. I have been hitting the bonus numbers on average every 18 draws which cuts the over all odds in half. When is the last time you had 5 QP lines with the correct bonus number on all 5 lines Jammy

Somewhat premature since you didn't seem to come to any definite conclusions, at least none regarding your subset size conjectures. Maybe I missed something. What subset of 56 MM numbers did you decide was the optimal one from which to choose your sets of 5: 12, 15, 28, 35, or 38? If you forgot, maybe Stack47 can remember.

There's a difference between being broke and not having any cash at a particular moment. Depending on what I've bought recently and whether or not I've been to the bank there are times when I could walk into a car dealership and buy a $50,000 car but I can't walk into a convenience store and buy a lottery ticket.

When you stop and think about it, it's kinda crazy that if someone is broke, the first thing they would think of to borrow money for is lottery tickets.

I think most people would think of necessities first.

I would venture to say that buying lottery tickets would most likely be the last thing on their minds.

Personally I would never borrow money from anyone to play the lottery as it's not a necessity for me to play, and if I'm that broke I shouldn't be playing in the first place. I have however given people money to pick tickets for me if I wasn't able to make it to a store in time. In all cases I have told the person that I would give him/her a million should I hit the JP.

Most of the answers here depend on how the money is borrowed. It's possible one of the parties might think there is some type of a verbal agreement if a jackpot is won. Loaning someone $5 usually means they expect to be paid back the $5, but asking to borrow $5 to buy lottery tickets may create some type of verbal arrangement. That's what I was getting at. I'd expect the exact amount and nothing more. Sure it would be nice to get a little extra, since I'm the one who was willing to let them borrow money, but I wouldn't get upset or feel entitled to any of the winnings.

If someone borrows $5 and promises to pay me tomorrow and they went and bought tonites MM ticket and won, I am not entitled to any of their jp. I am entitled to only $5.

If I buy someone a scratch ticket as a gift for helping me jump-start my car and they end up winning $1M, I am not entitled to any of that money. Only a greedy person would think they're entitled.

Most lotteries probably have a process to determine if the person validating the ticket is the same person that bought it. If they didn't purchase the ticket, they want the person who bought the ticket to verify the transfer. If I let someone borrow a couple bucks and they won millions with it, I'd expect to get a couple bucks in return. Nothing more and nothing less. It wasn't like those couple bucks I gave the guy were worth millions now, and I didn't tell him that I'd get any cut of profits made from the borrowed money (or any of the cheeseburger he may have bought with it instead). But as far as that kind of situation goes, if someone borrowed money from me to play without saying anything, the winnings are theirs. If they mentioned a kickback, they oughta honor it. In no way would I ever consider all or part of the winnings mine unless that was expressly stated beforehand.

What if you were on the receiving end of that short stick, would you consider the word borrowed as meaning temporary ownership of that particular $5.00
