Hardly the largest population of the PB states.

It should be noted before its surrounding states added PowerBall, Indiana had a lot of players from surrounding states. In fact, one of Ohioians biggest PB win was in Indiana. A group of machinists from Columbus calling themselves the lucky seven won that jackpot.

Everyone odds of winning are the same, while a general overall picture might show most winners are from the most populated areas, the winners can be from anywhere. It's the ticket that wins, not the area.

It's just like that other thread about why certain states win the PB more often. It's because the populations are larger, therefore there will be more winners.

You seem to asking whether or not people believe stores where jackpots have been won possess some attribute or quality that might give players there an edge. The initial Topic post makes no mention of the volume of sales at these stores and it seems to me that OnlyMoney is legitimately pointing out that the number of big winners at a given store is more likely to correlate with their sales volume than with any other phenomena.

Just remember that despite how lucky that store is, the bettors will still have to conquer millions of possible combinations.

just to add to the discussion...the majority of the winners are in miami (miami has the largest population) and publix has more winners than any other store selling lottery in florida (once again publix has more volume and stores)

lucky stores are just that... lucky , I buy my tickets from the same store since the flalottery began, he has had 2 lotto winners and 6 fan5 winners, several 10,000.00 scratch-off winners but never a mega or powerball or any amount on a scratch-off over 10k. everyo... [ More ]

I appreciate the examples, but I'd guess there are roughly over a million mom and pop stores in The united States, maybe less. So you and noisegate gave me a couple of examples out of a million stores that haven't had that streak of luck.

Are you seriously trying to say that those lucky stores will continue creating JP winners for years to come?

I seriously doubt they will.

i have bought my tickets at lucky lottery stores a few times but ended up with the same results. It doesn't seem to make a difference where tickets are purchased from my personal experience.

Onlymoney- Do a Google Search on a multiple lottery winning Store in San Lorenzo California. I may be wrong but this convenient store has had at least 3-4 jackpot winners. I am not talking scratchers, l mean serious hard cash, in a word* Millions.

They have more tham two lottery machines in that joint and a sgn out front saying Millionaires made here

Lots of bad people have won JPs, so I don't buy that mumbo jumbo stuff.

It's very true that nothing draws players in like having sold a jackpot winner, but in Illinois anyway it seems tickets sold at grocery chain stores don't win jackpots too often. It's usually convenience stores and liquor stores.

I don't see any reason why a particular store would create a winning JP ticket. Correct me If I'm wrong, but the numbers don't come from the terminal at the store, but created by the mainframe computer at some other location.

Secondly, I'd like to see any information showing PB/MM JPs won more than once in one store, and the frequency of these events happening in any given store/s over a period of time. I'm sure It's happened once or twice, but not enough to warrant driving many miles out of... [ More ]

I stick with the same stores. I only buy a ticket if I walk for it, so I have about 9 or 10 sources to buy from.

However, one store in Boise has sold 2 big multimillion dollar winners including the Brad Duke ticket. I understand many people go there to get theirs, especially when the JP is high.
