I checked out that history feature. We have a place on the northern part of Lake Brownwood and it's bone dry right now. Looked back 2008 imagery and nice and full.

I'd love to live up around Dallas, I've looked east of there around Lake Tawakoni and Fork. I would love to be able to get out any time I wanted and go for some big catfish.

as hell am over paying for someone's junk overpriced home, as rule is majority of homes are CHEAP made, sold for lots, hance why there are bubbles in first place.......................

Yep, was 90+ deg yesterday, right at freezing tonight. I used to chat with a guy from Liverpool; he had just seen Twister and wanted to know if you could look up into the eye of a tornado like the woman did in the movie. I explained to him the movie was full of stupid and untrue things about tornados, then turned around and asked him if he knew The Beatles. He didn't get it .

Lake LBJ would be a good place to start. Maybe some acreage on either the Blanco or LLano rivers. Or the Pedernales. With a dam and a low water crossing. Paradise.

As of now, Milwaukee, as I'm retired Yea!!!!!! in milwaukee.

Retirement is great, but don't think that once you retire that you have nothing to do. You are usually more busy.

I used to live up there in Lubbock. A few years back there were cancellations of classes (universities included) from rain, as well as from snow. It's a pretty diverse state. The other day the temps ranged from 28 degrees all the way to 98. In high school we had an exchange student who thought she was going to have to ride horses to class.

I think I'd like to have you for a neighbor, rd. About a mile apart would be about right, huh?

I want to live far enough out on a dead end road that if I saw someone coming, they were either coming to see me, were lost or didn't have any business being out there.

I love to look at the real estate ads in the back of Texas Monthly. I also subscribe to the Texas Landman site feed for their new listings and saw a place near Wimberly I'd love to own. I'm with you, I want some live water on my place, close enough to town for it not to be a hassle to get there but far enough away to not have many neighbors.

Ultimately somewhere west/southwest of Austin. Spicewood, Marble Falls, Dripping Springs, Blanco, Wimberley, Fredericksburg, etc. Somewhere with plenty of acres and maybe with a river or creek that flows through it.

For now though I would take somewhere around LA. Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach and Marina Del Rey are my top picks. I could settle with just visiting family who would be living in one of those areas listed in Texas.

Lake Tahoe, it has everything I like, altitude for cooler tempatures, lake for water sports, mountains and snow for cross-country skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking, hiking trails, camping, fishing, and forest.

I previously lived in Vail Colorado so Vail, Breckenridge, or Aspen would be my next choices.

I'm all set to retire to Tahoe without winning lottery but I would require some serious lottery winnings to retire in Aspen.

I like the sound of that plan. Most people don't know there are lakes not too far from Scottsdale as well as a National Forest. In the winter time the ski slopes are open up north and CA is only a 1 hr. flight away.
