If I were fortunate enough to win a large jackpot, I would most likely wait several months and have Todd post a copy of the winning ticket on my behalf. I would also figure out a way to have my attorney give LP a shout out during the claiming/interview process.

Anything under a million and I would have no problems revealing it myself.

Which raises another question. Do you tell everyone to get it out of the way and move on? Or do you wait a few weeks or

Ah dang, well I guess for me I'd like to avoid the beaureucratic name change system...as that seems may take forever. Setup a trust or incorporate yourself and then have someone else legally claim the prize in your trust/company seems like a way to go.

Well you're still paying a huge chunk of taxes if you take the lump sum. And every year afterwards if you do any investing in the form of capital gains taxes and all that.

Name change will be a huge hassle, at least here in the USA, and you have to go through the courts and then you have to change all your driver's license then back...too much.
