I would give a shocked look to the person speaking... then thank them with a heart-felt sigh of relief and tell them that unless they had shared their wisdom with me that I would have never known. and then I would walk away giggling - with my ticket in hand.

It's starting to look like there will be enough tickets sold to make it a must win jackpot so the odds are irrelevant to everyone buying tickets. Today I would tell them if they knew a better way to win $600 million for 2 bucks to tell me and if not to mind their own business.

I'm the one that usually tells the clerk there's a better chance for the ceiling of the store falling on my head, as I stand in line to purchase the one or two tickets a month.

Invariably there are always people who when asked by the clerk if they want a lotto ticket, or if they see you playing one, that just have to ask, Do you know the odds against winning that?

Do they themselves even have a clue?

I usually tell them, The odds are much better for those that have a ticket than those who don't have a ticket .
