I used to go to bars and eat out often. Cutting that down has saved tons, probably enough to buy 5 lines each draw for both MM and PB and still have money left over.

The average smoker spends $1,500 to $3,000 per year and I'm pretty sure most beer drinkers spend at least $1,000. I really don't see the problem of spending that same amount on a game where you can actually get money back from the money you put in, instead of just poor health or a hangover.

Yeah I realize that by playing the lottery that I might only see $4 returns on every $100 invested, but it's really the only opportunity an average person in the US has to come into millions of dollars. A LOT of people win every year, so it's possible, but your chances literally as low as nailing 10 consecutive hole in one shots on a par 3 hole that's surrounded by lots of hazards.

You will never recover the OPPORTUNITY COST of spending $20 or $30 weekly playing the lottery, unless you win a second prize or the jackpot. Your average win has to be at least $50,000 dollars every 10 years on any lottery game to be a winner. Spending $10,400 or $15,600 in 10 years playing the lottery is insane.

PLAYING THE LOTTERY=$20 Weekly=$1,040 Yearly=$10,400 in 10 Years. I consider that living beyond our means, we will never win that amount playing any lottery game within 10 years.
