I'll admit that Jack started out with good intentions. If I'm not mistaken he assigned 10% of his winnings to charities, churches and the Jack Whitaker fund, which luckily survived his delayed onset stupidity. He was a business savvy, self-made millionaire in his own right, and still the JP got to his head.

He got killed because he insisted on making the money drop to get his daughter back.

Whitaker did make some huge donations to a couple of churches but that aside I don't think we could call him or Edwards altruists. That considered, if a jackpot winner went to them for advice maybe human natruee would kick in and they'd intentionally give very bad advice, the mindset being they blew theirs so let's make this winner blow theirs.

I wouldn't front and pretend I know what to do (I know the basics) I would absolutely take the advice from those in the know, i.e. financial advisors/accountants/lawyers. All JP winners are targeted by the IRS. So I plan on doing everything by the book. No funny business.

But in the case of David and Jack, that's a different story. Not because I'm not interested in what they have to say, but because we know what they did and I don't think we'd ever follow in their footsteps. It isn't a case... [ More ]

i laready know an aquaintence of a friend that win $15 mill on powerball. thy still have quite a few houses, not enough of them being rented out. and a sum of cash. she isnt doing too well . but i couldnt bring myself to ask what went wrong. a million to ea family members was my 1st clue, they dont even like her now. ungrateful scum.

Generally people who need advice are not the ones who listen to them. That's why they need it in the first place. Advice is everywhere, if you're willing to listen you wouldn't be in their position in the first place.

I wouldn't need their advice. I'm not the type of person who would blow through money. I save money and would have the same mind set if I won a massive jackpot. That doesn't mean I would sit on the money and not spend it but I would make sure generations after me would be able to enjoy the money and not have any worries. It's mind boggling how these people blow through this money.

Point Taken Coin Toss- however l was watching this piece on YouTube featuring Kali Muscle and he goes into saying how he wasted precious time in prison when he could have been doing positive things. He now visits prisons and homes for troubled teens and lectures on what not to do . It's pretty impressive.

I would post the link but the language he uses is not PG.

With that in mind l made the connection on what not to do with these guys. They have first hand experience.
