He shouldn't feel bad about that. Had he not let her go ahead of him, even if he would have bought a quick pick, he probably would not have won because quick picks are different from one microsecond to the next.

That being said, his action did contribute to her getting the winning quick pick. So did the clerk who hit the quick pick button at exactly the right moment. And so on...
