Agreed..These days I am buying one atleast per game (for even state specific ones) just to have a chance..IMO the dream after buying the tik is well worth the dollar..

that first ticket you buy provides you with the best value. You go from having a zero percent chance of winning the jackpot to having a very small chance. Depending on the person, having that small chance may be worth spending a dollar on a ticket.

It would improve from 1 in 175 millions to 100 in 175 millions. Percentage wise, it would improve from 0.00000057% to 0.000057%. Still a long shot.

If you are a Celtics fan, think of it in terms of the NBA lottery where they use ping pong balls to determine who gets the first pick.

Each ping pong ball represents a line on your ticket. The more lines you have, the more ping pong balls with your name on it. It doesn't always work out the team with the most ping pong balls gets the top prize.

Same with the numbers games.

Buying a Single line or multiple lines DOES NOT change the ODDS- it increases your chances if ever so slightly but not the odds, those NEVER change.That is why you can and will for the most part get a single winner of the MM/PB jackpot from amongst millions of other losing tickets. That individual has all the numbers on a single line, meaning if you are in the right place at the right time for a QP being spat out of the machine- or having the winning line on your play slip- you are victorious.

Gotcha..So it does not really improve the odds of winning JP if I buy 100 lines a draw fror MM..huh

Yes but the odds are so astronomical that buying more tickets generally does not significantly increase your odds of winning

To put it into perspective - the odds of winning MM jackpot from buying just one ticket is 0.00000057%.

You would need to buy 1.75 million tickets just to increase your odds from 0.00000057% to 1%. That is one in a hundred with no guarantee to win.

Does buying multiple lines or participating in work place pool give a better chance than buying a single line per game for MM/PB/State specific games?

Just curious if you buy one ticket per game or multiple lines per draw.
