I've seen both messages, Sorry, not a winner and Not a winner on the same scanner so it might depend on the game. We have self serve vending machines and a losing ticket will show a red box, but if the ticket was previously scanned and paid, the red box will have a line through it. I thought it would be funny if the message said Did you really think we would pay twice? .

For winning tickets, there is an option to add the credits, but only tickets can be purchased with the credits so if you do... [ More ]

Actually in the gambling business things like Sorry Not A Winner are known as sympathy calls ...... the lottery does it for PR but it gets crap dealers on the stick yelled out (because there are people betting the Don't).

I'm just wondering, do Calif. scannrs says Congratulations you won $ _ _ _ or just You won $ _ _ _ ?

Because its a Sorry game

I did win 12.00 on the PB last draw ( but took me 5.00 to get it )

Won 20.00 on the Mega Millions not to long ago ( only took me 3.00 to get that one )

Had the powerplay on the PB and the megaplier on the Mega Mlliions

I seldom play PB anymore ( and I seldom get the powerplay ) when I do , and then only one ticket

I play the Mega Millions a little more regular.........but small amounts ( usually get one ticket with megaplie... [ More ]

Since I've have only taken in tickets that I first checked at home the terminal only confirm what I already know which it says WINNER! WINNER! We have a winner! I'm going to take in some losers and hear what it says.

Those words should be dropped, although it would be of little comfort if you holding a batch of losing tickets.

I know here in California those terminals are unforgiving and to the point.Do you truly think the lottery establishment is Sorry you lost out?
