Considering that drawings are psuedorandom, any number has an equally likely chance of hitting in any drawing. Any apparent patterns are statistically explainable and totally meaningless. However, just for fun, here are a few statistical quirks from Mega Millions:

1. On average, 9% of drawings have a white ball number that matches the Mega number

2. Over 80% of drawings have at least 1 number that also hit in the previous drawing

3. At least 50% of drawings have at least 1 number that

I've discovered while playing Bonus Match 5 here in Maryland which is a 5/39 game, the draws on average tend to be 4 hot numbers and 1 cold number. Sometimes it swifts but on average that is how it tends to go. I normally pick my cold numbers based on the pattern of how long they've been out past 10 games or more and finally hit.

I use two programs to pick my cold numbers which has a very solid track record for me so far. I never chase a due number . The signs based on other charts and data has to justify why it's due and worth playing.

Makes as much sense as anything else.

I guess they have to get cold first, then overdue.

How often does a number have to hit to be hot? Every draw?

Never really thought about this in depth.

. From what I've read, I think cold numbers were hitting before and went 'Cold'. Overdue numbers are numbers that haven't hit in a long while. Sometimes months apart. That was the understanding I got, I could be wrong though.

Hmmm, what do you call numbers that hit consistantly, but aren't hot or cold.... warm? LOL

I'm curious, when playing a jack pot game we know what numbers are hot and which ones are cold. How do YOU know which number(s) to play? Do you pick a number that has been cold. For example, I play power ball. If the 5 has not played in say the last 20 games vs the 3 played 4 times in the last 20 what would you do? This is frustrating to me
