LOL, thats true! I was wondering the same thing, there had to be a winner in there somewhere.

Imagine standing next to the scanner checking each one? Would take months!

I just got around to watching the video.

Pretty trippy patterns they made with those lottery tickets. A lot of mandalas in the lost dream house

I wonder if they still have their exibit up in BK, it might be interesting to take a gander.

Thats why I dont play scratchers, the chances to win are so slim. However one

This whole project was great and you can tell they are professional artists. They had the entire concept fully resolved and it was relatable to the masses.

That is really awesome RedStang, thanks for posting the info and pix!

Very interesting about the scratch-off material. In the video it appears that the tickets are very uniform, as if they removed all the excess material. I think it's really cool that they don't remove it after all.

Small World Todd. Got to meet Adam. He said they don't wipe off the scratch-off material because everyone scratches different and that makes each ticket unique. Besides the glue, they add a UV cure on top. That's probably why she had gloves on. Second pic is one made of scratch-offs that was behind a door. Last one is a new project made of playing cards.

ok I have watched this cool video twice and the only thing I can think of that they might be using to remove the scratch off latex is rubbing alcohol or hairspray. I found it interesting that they did not appear to modge podge the tops of the tickets as well (looks like they were using modge podge glue to glue them on which is basically elmers glue) to protect them or put some resin over the top ... but perhaps the supporting cardboard is not very thick.

LOL, turns out that there Is such a thing as latex solvent, and no It's not H2o.

But since I don't have any In my shop I could'nt test It on old scratchers,

and found no reference to It being used on tix.

One thing I would be interested to learn is the method they used to get rid of all the extra gray scratch-off material on every card. In one shot it looks like the lady is cleaning off some tickets. She has heavy gloves on, so maybe she's using a checmical of some kind.

This is pretty strange, but I'm really glad people like this exist in the world.

Sculptor Lauren Was and painter Adam Eckstrom decided to make a car out of people's lost dreams , as they put it. And so, they turned thousands of used lottery tickets into a possible object of people's desires.

The dream car chosen was a Lamborghini Countach, the car which dominated everybody's bedroom wall from 1974 way up until production stopped in 1990.
