i would say it's not a bad thing , don't go to bars or strip joints , not a drug user or big drinker (just enough keep the wife looking good)...more of a losing addiction then anything ...

I'm only a rec player who buys tickets a 3-5 times a year when the PB jackpots are over 300 million. I remember that MM 660 million jackpot a while back.

Any way you look at it lottery is gambling. Gambling is an addiction. Yes,lottery can be one too.

I live with someone who is addicted to coffee,lol. Now I don't like coffee...anyone know how to cure that? 1-800-NO-TO-JOE...any such number

They're all soaked with tobaccy juice around here.

Lottery addiction is very real. I am not sure how it is over there in the UK but over here, if you go to an ATM of a different bank than the one you belong to, you have to pay ATM fees. I see people paying ATM fees all the time to get cash to play lottery. To me that is addiction.

The lottery is just a state sanctioned monopoly gambling operation.

Addiction can happen with the lottery just as it can with casino gaming, etc. But it more likely happens with games that can be played fast like Scratch games. As such, some states do not offer them. And then in descending order of speed, quick draw Keno, Daily games, and then Jackpot games.

Just been browsing around this forum and I've picked up on things like trying to cut down on my playing volume which I find surprising. Can people become addicted to lottery? I've heard of casino's, online and bookies but never lottery.

Perhaps in the US it's possible but here in the UK it's very rare, certainly from my network of friends, how about you guys? do you know anyone addicted to lottery? is it possible? As I said it may be possible in the US as their lotteries... [ More ]
