Yes it does. And yes you did mention in the video about changing the value which changes the range of draws analyzed. My interest in using the key digit(s) and/or best pairs is solely for positional sets which would hopefully help in getting the straights. My goal is to have a few sets factoring in those as well as my customized sets that I'm using based on digit count. I'm trying to keep my overall sets tight and low!

You don't need to use the Boxed Pairs or Key Digit(s)

The Boxed Pairs calculations are a tip from LibraDave called Due Index (see column GX in the DrawHistory) tab

You take all the Boxed Pairs, calculate the hits for the last 365 draws for Midday or Evening and 730 past draws for combined draws.

The Index is calculated by taking the Average (Total Hits 2190 / the particular pair Hit in last 365 draws) divided by the Minimum Skip (minimum skip for each Pick 4 boxed pairs).

I added another Libra Dave suggestion or 2.

Addded 6 Best Boxed Pairs based on the Hit Index and also added a Key Digit

In the DrawHistory tab in cell range AF40 through AK40 you should see 6 of the best pairs to include in your sets.

Also in cell AM40 you should see the Key Digit to include also. Even though there is only 1 key digit in cell AM40 you need to check if there may be a second key digit. To find the key digit(s) go to cell range B5. Take this value in cell B5 and search in

Ok, I figured out why the difference.

1. Go to the Tab labeled DrawHistory

2. Click cell R1. You should see the number 2 . To the right you should see a drop-down arrow. Click the drop-down arrow and select the number 1 from the list. Remember these are always 40 draw increments.

The reason I put this here is so that you can back test using previous draws. So in cell range Q6 through W16 you can see the calculations change when you also change the value in cell R1. The 1 in cell R1 rep... [ More ]

Actually what I did with those sets I asked you to put together was just a HOT/COLD mix. I wasn't looking for the straights with that mix, because that would require fine tuning it by position possibly based on skips, hits, ect., and I was afraid of messing up the file. But so far I've found getting the base digits in NY usually is just a matter of mixing up all hot, 2 hot/2 cold, etc. and this will give box hits.

You can actually change the lettering A through J in the Tab labeled DrawHistory

Go to cell range AE6 through AE17 and change the lettering to your own custom sets.

I did have to add 2 more sets to your Excel file which is in the download link posted above.

Hi Steve,

I was trying to modify the RickGPick4Wheel file to give me an additional set of numbers with a different output than what's currently generated. It gave me a pain the back of my head and neck ...

This is what I'd like to achieve:

Using the lettering that's in place for the digits going hot to cold:

If you are using Excel version 1997 -2003 use the Pick 3 and Pick 4 Excel Files with the file extension .xls

If you are using Excel version 2007 2010 use the Pick 3 and Pick 4 Excel files with the file extension .xlsm

For those updating the P3StateDraws and P4StateDraws Excel files and you are updating yesterday's Sunday's drawings make sure you copy and paste into the corret cell range and click the correct toolbar.

1. Dashboard Tab click cell J1 and using the drop-down arrow select Sunday's date 8/18.2013

2. Click the LP tab

3. Copy and Paste the Sunday's draws from the Results Page (Pick 3 Pick 4) starting in cell K1

4. Click the Tab Dashboard and click the Toolbar Sunday Only - Daily Upda... [ More ]

The reason I created the P3StateDraws and P4StateDraws Excel files is that it contains all the Pick 3 and Pick 4 draws for almost every state including Canadian draws. Instead of creating a program for each state I decided to have a 1 covers all approach. Of course due to the size of both these Excel files I had to create a new Excel file depending on what system or method you want to create. For example, RickGPick4 and RickGPick3 Wheel Programs.

If your updating specific state tabs then the dates will not move forward 1 day. If you watch the video on how to update all the drawings using the dashboard tab toolbars the macro will copy and paste the correct date in each of the states worksheets on line 20.

I did have it set up awhile back to advance the date but adding new states meant changing code here and there. This way is much easier in the event a state decides to add a Pick 3 or Pick 4 game or add a new Midday game.
