Not familiar with this company. All I can say is if anyone can charter a private jet for less than $1,000 to most destinations, Jetsuites would be inundated with reservations while making national headlines.

Considering that the majority of private charters charge a minimum of $2,500 an hour for a light jet (btw,this doesn't include positioning fees or taxes) if it sounds too good to be true it probably doesn't exist.

Do you really think you're getting reliable info?

You can sometimes get a killer deal when somebody has to fly a jet and doesn't have other passengers booked, because flying an empty plane is only marginally less expensive than flying one with 1000 to 1500 pounds of passenger and cargo. It's like picking up a hitchhiker for $10 in gas money when you're already going somewhere.

CoinToss, never thought about how an RV gets from MFR. to dealer,

NASCAR drivers live in them when they are at a racetrack, but they are driven to the track by someone else,

also not allowed to sleep/use anything.

That may be what you are seeing, at least some of the time.

Oh and the NASCAR drivers are getting to the track by ...wait for it...

Once I find that ideal spot and house, why would I like to travel anywhere else. If they ever get somethink like the Hyperloop up, you will get there faster than a jet anyway. Across country in an hour is the plan.

I know there are transport drivers who drive RVs from the manufacturer to the dealer and they're not allowed to use anything or sleep in the RVs, but other than that whenever I see a RV in a motel parking lot, it kind of makes me wonder.

ohhhh that is one of my all time fave movies....Lucy collecting the big rocks and hiding them...lol. But there is an episode of I love Lucy were they all (including Fred and Ethel) have a sleeper car and Lucy thinks someone is trying to kill her.

We travel in Europe frequently using the trains and the overnight sleeper cars. It is wonderful to go to sleep in Paris and wake up in Madrid. The European trains are incredible.

I don't know but since many models are made for several years without a major design change I assume they are decommissioned because of miles driven rather than age.

Where are they renting new RV? In my area the rent is $1500 a week for a used 30ft Class A motor home. I've seen end of the year sales on similar size new motor homes for $70-80K. They aren't diesel pushers but neither are the ones for rent.

I agree! We have enjoyed ours for a little over 3 years and have been up and down the east coast as well as part of the Midwest. Only issue we have encountered are some campgrounds do not have concrete/paved pads or pull through.

Other than that it sure is nice to pack the entire family and pets while enjoying sightseeing this wonderful country of ours.

Hey hay,

If it helps you to get as much info about it as you can:

I reserved sleeper cars for my family once and it was excellent. My wife took a trip with our daughter and granddaughter and they said it was great.

They could take a nap or lay down and read, and especially at night, it was a nice amenity, because trying to sleep in a seat, even if partially reclined, is nothing like having an actual bed.

So at least from this family's perspective, it gets a thumbs up as a way to trav... [ More ]

Flying business/first-class on long flights is extremely comforting especially on long flights. We travel overseas frequently and being able to actually lay back and sleep is well worth it for me and my husband.

Net Jets is a fractional ownership and extremely expensive when compared to conventional charters.

Not all chartered flights are pampered. If you book a light or medium charter, a stewardess is not provided. The big advantage is the ability to fly in and out of a small airport with 6-7 of your friends/family along with your pets with virtually no hassle. The light jets offer no headroom whatsoever...most only have a ceiling height of about 4-feet and space is a premium.

I take it you have never flown first class or did so on Iberia. It is so worth it to fly business or first class on flights longer than 8 hours. From both a comfort and productivity standpoint, flying at the front of the tube is worth it.

in response to the question, if I won either MM tonight or PB ob Saturday, I would use a service like Net Jets. but I have watched a few episodes of Airplane Repo to know that buying a jet is not the way to go.

$4,000 to not lose my luggage, to actually get to use SILVERware when I eat, not aggravated by someones screaming kids or them kicking my seatback, actually getting to where Im trying to go without changing planes and not missing a connector flight because the one Im one was late, I could keep going on...$4,000 is really sounding like a bargain....even if I didn't win the lottery LOL

The $2500 an hour for a light jet is a teaser rate. The actual cost on a one-way flight will run you at least time and a half because of the empty leg flight plus you have other taxes and fees making the out of pocket cost over $4000.

You may not have heard of it B/C it's very expensive,

but a lot less expensive then owning your own jet.

30 some years ago I got to fly 1st class for coach $

2 unattended minors had seats in 1st class and the airlines did'nt permit that.

The attendant came in coach and said I need 2 seats together through to Los angeles, my GF put her hand up, the attendant said come w/me

I said to GF why did you do that, they're gonna kick us of the plane for some rich people, LOL

they took us to 1st class.

I'm with you about the smaller RV. If I ever do win the lottery and fly, I'm certainly going to splurge on First Class.

Yes, for all the reasons you mention I would never own a jet,

but a really huge win would have me considering one of the clubs like Netjet etc.

As for the RV I would'nt rent the model that's bigger then a city bus,

but rather the one that's a little bigger then a delivery van, even looks like a van from the front.

BTW there was a winner that was featured on LCML that had a really big RV, I guess it was no big deal to him,

he's a retired truck driver

I think I'll just settle for first class or business when flying. And mabey pay the extra fee to skip ahead of lines. Only if I decide to invest some of that money and have a good size of income coming back, like mabey 1 or 2 M a year. Which would cover the costly upkeep and maintenance of owning a jet. Then mabey I would consider get one.

Right now I am not a rich man so the idea of private jet seems redundant. But the thing about life is the way it flips things upside down. You just never know. I'd like to fly private to tour far away places that I see on travel channel. The Zambezi Falls, Okavango Delta, Pyramids, Macau casinos.

Sounds like a good idea simply for the ability to bypass the annoying airport security these days. The lines can be insane. I haven't heard of any clubs that allow you to buy time on private jet flights but I googled a private flight from Miami to Sardinia in Italy and it seemed pricey. $250k roundtrip for 2 people - can it actually be that much?! Having a personal private jet or even a fractional ownership is not too practical unless you were able to offset the expense through your business. There are many companies that charge rates based on hourly flight time based on the size of the plane.

I like Bluestar Jets as they offer discounted rates on empty leg flights(time and a half) while many others will charge you a hefty fee for these one-way flights. Their planes are not brand new but most are less than 7 years old and well maintain... [ More ]

How much does it cost, cause Ive always said that myself, that I would just go with netjets or something. I havent flown commercially since 9/11 but all the horror stories of people being felt up and no being able to take this and turn off that...along with the stinky people and crying kids aaaahhhh..I'll just invest in time in a private jet, Does anybody have prices on it though?? hehehe a friend and I have looked at the million and one RVs and Travel Trailers and its amazing the number of options and ideas that have been cobbled together for the sake of traveling and exploring places that we shouldn't in some senses

but the more I think about it the more I realize it seems like a serious pain in the bunz

best advice is to find that little slice of what you'd deem to be paradise and never leave it hehehe

Like most other folks in here, I've fantasized about what I'd do w/ the money. I've never really considered buying a Learjet, though; not only are they outrageously expensive, so is the upkeep - maintenance, inspections, hanger fees and unless you learned to fly, you'll have to pay someone to pilot it, plus a co-pilot. I still like to look at planes, though.

I really doubt I'd fly all that much if I won the lottery. I probably would opt for air travel over a ship if I wanted to go to..say... [ More ]

Na, UK is pretty small so no need to fly to get around the country and if I went on vacation abroad then it would just be upgraded to extra leg room. I wouldn't dream of giving airlines like 5K just for 1st class, not worth it and they are ripping you off. All I care about is a little extra leg room and that isn't much.
