Hmmm... just saw this new game this morning... thanks for the info folks.

Boy, I sure do like the transparency of the TX lotto website... can easily drill down to the AoN payouts to get a feel for how this IL game may roll.

The IL twist of a GL grand prize + 250K gives this game an interesting niche... 1 in 13Mil odds vs. IL lotto grand prize of 1 in 20 mil odds, but yeah, the middle tier payouts/odds of this game are weak in order to support that GL option... it is tempting though

Hmmm...after a 2nd look, I don't think I like what IL did with their version of this 12/24 game.

They followed the typical lotto formula of robbing from the middle class prizes to give to the top prize. Hit or Miss ends up with similar total return as TX All or Nothing, around 56%. But in typical average play, only 30% return for HoM versus 40-45% for AoN. A big price to pay for the honor of having that Good Life grand prize. Actually, the executive directors meet at a convention each year and share ideas. That's why we're seeing more states doing the same thing. More draws pr day, and higher ticket prices.

The AON/HOM game started in Ireland some years ago, but didn't survive for some reason. I like to play it 2 or 3 times a week. But there's no way I'll play it 24 times a week. Thanks for the link to the Illinoi lotery FAQ page on Hit or Miss, I hadn't seen anything on their website prior to this.

Sounds like these lottery directors are definitley talking to each other, or at least copy-cating each other.

To me this game sounds like when a bunch of new players go into lo-ball poker, going into pots with pairs and what have you. Oh, I'll play, I always get bad cards.

The new IL Hit or Miss game looks just like TX All or Nothing game rebranded:

Except looks like they learned from the mistakes of TX AoN and launched HoM with a liability cap in place, and no boxes on the playslip for odd/even, high/low. And they added a twist with a higher grand prize with multiplier.

It's a good game, hope it does spread and makes it to Cali.

Illinois has a new item on the lottery monitors that says Coming Soon, Hit and Miss.....

The playslip shown looks like a Pick 3 or Pick 4 playslip.

Ther's nothing on the IL Lottery website yet but I'm sure this is going to be another add $1 to your bet affair from Northstar.
